Hi Everyone! Today I bring you another one of my MLP:FiM Character Redesigns.
This drawing first started as a simple sketch, but I ended up liking it so much I wanted to finish it and let it become a full simple illustration.
Let's talk about my design choices for her.

This is how I envision older Apple Bloom (shown around 18-19 years old here).
As for her colours, I darkened her color palette in some places and gave her lighter markings in others. For the Apple Family I really want to give them all dark and light markings like real horses have, because they're the characters that seem more real in terms of design, plus markings always look very beautiful in these characters and helps differentiate them from the rest. Some of her darker markings appear in her eyes, shoulders and mouth, while the lighter markings are placed in her cheecks, inner ears, neck and belly.
As for her mane, I also darken it a bit and lowered the saturation to make it a more natural red, she could pass for a natural redhaired girl if she was human.
Her eyes stayed the same, I love that caramel color and how it's the same to Granny Smith, so I didn't change them at all.

I wanted to represent her personality as being a middle point between her teammates in the CMC, not as girly and cute as Sweetie Belle, but not as tomboy-ish as Scootaloo either. She's very much a middle between those, I see her being more interested in work than looking good, but takes better care of her image than Applejack. That's why she still wears her bow and ties her hair up in a ponytail so it doesn't get dirty while doing farm work.
