This is a birthday present for , who already has had the 1st one of the series, the one with Jack arriving at the giant castle on the top of the beanstalk ... happy belated bday, alien !

"While he was climbing, Jack saw a small and shiny creature flying towards him: it was a fairy, and she said she lived in the village on the leaf ..."

The lineart was copied from the original picture, and is this: , so it was not just like the reference. The reference is an original illustration by Silverio Pisu: . It was made in 1966 for an illustrated series of fairy tales. Besides the books, they made also several editions of the series composed by books+records (and later, in the years, the records were replaced by cassettes and then by cd's, with mp3 too, lately). They are the renown "Fiabe sonore" (Sounded Faity Tales). The copyright of the most recent series (including the lineart) belongs to Fabbri Centauria srl. A series of the same illustrated fairy tales, in English, was printed in the US in 1969: the "Storytime Treasury: A McCall Book" series!
There is no way to compete with the amazing brilliance and harmony of the original colours, but I did my best with Caran d'Ache and Faber-Castell watercolour pencils, Giotto Laccato, Stabilo and Bic coloured pencils, Giotto Turbocolor markers, a Faber-Castell PITT artist black pen and a mechanical pencil.

Questo è un regalo di compleanno per Manglenn, che ha già avuto il primo della serie, con Giacomino che arriva al castello gigante in cima alla pianta di fagiolo ...

"Mentre si arrampicava, Giacomino vide una creatura piccola e luminosa che volava verso di lui: era una fata, che affermò di vivere nel villaggio costruito sulla foglia ..."

La traccia è stata copiata dalla figura originale, ed è quella riportata in alto, perciò non era proprio identica al modello. Il modello è un'illustrazione originale di Silverio Pisu, e potete vederla qua sopra. Fu fatta nel 1966 per una serie illustrata di fiabe. Oltre ai libri, sono state fatte anche diverse edizioni composte da libri+dischi (poi i dischi, negli anni sono stati sostituiti dalle cassette e dai cd, alla fine anche con mp3), le famose "Fiabe sonore" (potete trovarle in edicola anche adesso). I diritti dell'ultima serie appartengono (compresa la lineart) a Fabbri Centauria srl.
Non c'è modo di competere con la brillantezza incredibile e l'armonia dei colori originali, ma io ho fatto del mio meglio con matite acquarellabili Caran d'Ache e Faber-Castell, matite colorate Giotto Laccato, Stabilo e Bic, pennarelli Giotto Turbocolor, una penna per artisti nera Faber-Castell PITT e portamine.
