Description Aside from the blaring alarm, all was silent.  As her eyes adjusted to the darkness, Samus began to see more and more detail. The creature collapsed on top of her, which she had previously seen as Ridley, was gradually becoming more human-like. Flesh-colored skin, human face, and he was even wearing clothes. Clothes that were torn open in the back, where his wings and tail had apparently sprouted, but clothes nonetheless. She then noticed that he was still breathing.

"Who are you?" Samus asked him again.

"…Please, leave me alone…" the boy requested, out of breath.

"Why are you here?" she asked.

"Hungry." he replied, bluntly.

"Maybe I can help you." she said, then she asked again, "Who are you?"

"I don't know." he answered. Samus lifted him onto her shoulder, then checked the status of her suit. In the heat of battle, she couldn't hear everything her suit was telling her. As she feared, much of the suit's functionality was lost. Power Bombs, Super Missiles, regular Bombs and Missiles, a majority of her Beam upgrades, and the Varia and Gravity expansions. All she had left was the standard blue-and-yellow Power Suit and a single Energy Tank, enough to hold 100 units of energy before her suit's shielding failed, leaving her utterly defenseless. And with what was waiting for her outside…

"Come on, let's go." she said, helping him walk out the door. The SA-X looked at the boy, arm cannon aimed and ready to fire, then noticed Samus. It analyzed the situation, and responded by… Lowering its arm cannon and… Changing shape? The pauldrons on its shoulders disappeared, being replaced by far smaller triangular shoulder pads. If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she would never have believed that the SA-X was actually downgrading from a fully functioning Varia Suit to a standard Power Suit. But then, the SA-X had been doing a number of things she wouldn't believe recently…

Samus looked at the boy, and noticed several things about him. In addition to the oddities, his wings and tail, he had white hair and blue eyes. Where she had shot him, there was a black-edged hole in his shirt, and a black spot on his front, but nothing more. She let go of him, and he could stand on his own. There was very little that could survive a shot from her arm cannon relatively unharmed, and humans were no exception. But, then again, this boy was clearly not a normal human. "What are you?" she asked.

"…I don't know…" he answered.

Samus sighed. She couldn't seem to learn anything about this boy. "How did you get here?" she asked.

"Flew." the boy said, pointing out his wings.

"No, I mean, how did you get here?" she clarified. "We're in space."

"Flew." the boy insisted.

"That's not what I…" Samus sighed again. "How did you deal with the lack of oxygen?"

"Held my breath." the boy replied.

Samus stared. "Then how did you survive the vacuum of space without exploding?"

"Dunno." the boy answered.

"If I may interject," the ship's computer said, "I have discovered something… Odd."

"Odd?" Samus asked. "How so?"

"We are approaching an uncharted planet just outside Federation space."

"How is that odd?"

"It's so close to Federation space, its existence would be noted, at least. But, instead, I have no information about it. At all."

"…Interesting." Samus said.

"Furthermore, I am detecting a large concentration of metal in the planet. It's as though the entire planet is a large chunk of ore."

"That is indeed odd… Set course for the unidentified planet."

"Are you sure?" asked the computer.

"Yes." came the reply. "The planet has made me curious. Now, what are we going to do with this… Boy?"

"Well, I'm guessing we should feed him." the computer responded. "We should also find something to call him."

"Hm… Since he looks a bit like Ridley… How about Yeldir?"

"Keep trying, Bright Blue." the yet-unnamed boy said.
