Background:

Feather's childhood is pretty average as they can get; she grew up with two parents and no siblings. Her parents both work in the weather system, one creating the weather and the other bringing them to towns. They both make pretty good income so they never had to worry about bills and such, and could afford to give Sher toys and other things. Since she comes from a long line of weather workers (on both sides), it was expected she would follow in their hoofsteps, hence her birthname, Stormy Skies (named after Papa Storm).

What no one expected was for Stormy to gain her cutie mark in baking.

One day Daddy Rain had to make a cloud delivery to a town. Since Papa Storm had the day off, they decided to make it a family trip and take little Stormy with them (who was around ten at the time). Once the clouds were delivered, they decided to explore the town and show Stormy what life on the ground was like. Being a kid there wasn't much that Stormy found interesting--except for the occasional dog--until they passed by a bakery.

Stormy saw the candy and desserts lined up in the window front and wanted to go inside, but for some reason her parents started to act weird and tried to lead her away from there. They eventually did and tried to get her mind off of it by going to another store, but when they looked down they realized their little Stormy wasn't there. Obviously it didn't take them long to figure out where she ran off to, so they quickly rushed back, but it was too late.

By the time they got to the bakery and opened the door, they were greeted by a sight of an earth pony mare up against the far wall, pushing up against it as hard as she could with an angry and fearful look on her face, and their little Stormy standing in the middle of the room.

"Get her out!" The mare shouted.

Papa Storm quickly scooped her up, apologized to the mare, and they left as fast as they could. They ended the trip and went back home so Stormy wouldn't be tempted to go back to the bakery.

Sadly for them and the mare, that wouldn't be the last time Stormy would go back to that bakery.

They never brought her back to the town, but they didn't have to. For some reason she was drawn to the bakery, feeling that somehow it related to her destiny, but no matter how much she begged or explained her reasonings, her parents wouldn't take her back. Finally after months of getting rejected she decided to find it on her own. She got her parents coworkers to tell her the name of the town, got a map of Equestira, had her teacher help her calculate the distance between Cloudsdale and the town, then made the plan!

On the weekend she pretended to be sleeping in her room, grabbed her supplies, then went on the journey to the town. The trip shouldn't have been that long, yet it took Stormy hours to get there after multiple rests. From there it didn't take her long to find the bakery and the mare owner.

Of course the mare once again acted scared of her and yelled at her to get out, but little Stormy refused. They argued for awhile before the mare summoned the strength to shoo the filly out of her bakery and lock the door. Of course right then her parents arrived (after seeing she wasn't in her room and couldn't find her at any of her friends' houses) and took her home where she received a spanking and was grounded for the rest of the weekend, but that didn't stop her.

No matter how close they watched her, no much how they punished her, or walked her everywhere she went, she always managed to escape and ended up at the bakery. The mare at first was scared and angry at her, but after so many attempts of the filly getting in, she finally gave up and allowed the filly to stay around. It wasn't long after that that she noticed the filly was always watching her bake, but it wasn't until a month of watching that she decided to teach the filly how to bake, and that was only after her parents begged her to teach Stormy how to bake. Apparently the filly had tried to copy the mare's work at home, but her inexperience always ended up with the kitchen a mess or on fire.

After that Stormy became the mare's apprentice and earned her cutie mark after making cookies with macadamia nuts. From then on it was obvious Stormy's destiny was baking.

Now an adult she has her own cookie shop (Feather Whisk's Cookies) in Cloudsdale and hopes her cookies will one day reach ponies all over Equestria.

Personality:

Feather is a nice mare that loves sharing her cookies with ponies, but she also got sass in her, which is why her nickname from Dad Rain is "Sugar & Spice" If she's asked a question she doesn't know, she's not afraid to answer in sass. Such as, "how come your cookies don't get wet even though they're in the clouds?" "Magic? Who cares! You gonna buy some cookies or not?"

She's also not afraid to refuse service or close her shop on ponies she doesn't like (like ponies who ask if there's glutton in her cookies only because it's trendy not to eat them).

Special:

-It's not shown, but Feather's wings are actually small for her age (like Scootaloo's). This is due to a disability known as "Clubbed Wing" (known as clubbed foot in the real world). This means at a certain point the bones in her wings stopped growing, making them not only shorter than an average's pegasus' wings, but her flight time is also cut short, meaning she can't fly as far as others without taking a rest. She actually has some metal wing holders that allow her to fly faster, but she doesn't wear them. She doesn't like how time consuming it is to put them on and off--plus she just doesn't like them--so she just keeps them off until she has to use them.

- Feather doesn't know who her surrogate mother, and she doesn't care. She's got her papas, so she's happy.

HAHAHA! Finally I'm done with my new oc! This picture was actually done months ago, but other projects and things pushed it back. Of course when I decide to upload it and want to look over the sai to make sure I'm really done, the file became corrupt, so I have no way of going back to that file. Because of this and the time, I forgot which pony parts I used to create Feather. I think the tail is Shining Armor and the hair part of Cloudchaser (I think).

So what caused me to create this OC was something that hasn't happened to me before: One day I woke up and while waking up, my eyes suddenly shifted and an image of a black and white pony appeared in my mind for a moment and disappeared. I kept thinking about her until I decided to create her. The strips and brown hair was just me experitmenting.

I know the CM isn't great, and it's not what I really wanted, but it's all I'm able to do at the moment. Hopefully one day I can create the one I really wanted, so until then just enjoy this!

Also the clubbed wings is a reference to the clubbed foot that I have in real life, so I'm going by my experience, and others may vary. I'm not sure though.
