Description Shadow woke up to the sound of Zequel’s lastest hit, or at least she thought it was. She didn’t like the station, let alone the singer, but at least it got her up in the morning. She got up, turned off the radio, and started preparing for another day of chasing speeders or getting (cat like animals) out of trees; things that every Intergalactic Space Patrol (ISP) officer had to do.

Shadow went to her closet and pulled out her ISP uniform. She admired the deep purple suit with gold accents, like she did every morning, and proceeded to put it on. Shadow loved her job; getting to help others and meet people from other planets she may not have had a chance to go to. She just wished she got a little more respect. That is the other reason she joined the ISP, respect. With a name like Shadow Sprite she didn’t get much respect, even from her commander. Why did her parents have to name her Sprite? Sprites were almost exactly like fairies, except only about the size of a fairy’s hand, and she had to be short.

Shadow went to her kitchen to find something for breakfast. While looking though her cupboards she hoped _(name)_, her commanding officer, would give her a good assignment today. Maybe help catch some big time thieves, like the Pixie Sisters. She found some eggs in the fridge and decided to cook them while she thought.

The Pixie Sisters specialized in stealing precious minerals from various planets in the Milky Way and selling them on the black market. They are very good at what they do and it is almost impossible to prove that they stole something most of the time. Anyone who catches them, with proof, would go down in history. Total respect.

Cleaning up her plate Shadow thought; to get that kind of respect you would already need to be respected to get that assignment. She would never get the assignment, even if every other officer in her unit took to their beds ill. Shadow pulled on her boots. Oh well, she thought, at least she can still help people. She tied back her curly brown hair, grabbed her helmet and walked out the door.
