Description She cried in the corner of the hallway, “How could he lie to me like that?” she asked the TARDIS, “He knew how much it hurt me that I didn’t know who or what I was!!  And he just---!” her hearts broke… “How could he do this to me?  I trusted him…”  The TARDIS hummed in sympathy.  She slumped, “I don’t want to do this anymore…”  She fished through her pockets and found a locket, she clicked it open revealing a picture of a blonde woman holding a baby close to her chest.  The picture on the other side showed massive fire damage and she could barely make out three pairs of feet.  My real family…  She remembered her dreams, the woman’s voice softly singing her to sleep as she snuggled close to her chest.  A tiny baby…  She’s the only one I trust…  Everyone else…  she shook her head, Mama, where are you?  The TARDIS hummed sadly, “He lied to me…  I have no reason to trust him!  Don’t tell him where I am!  Please…  I need some time…” she hummed again, “I just need some time, please?  This is all too much…!  I thought it would be fun seeing all of my favorite characters but…  God this is all so confusing…  Jesus help me, please…  I’m scared that everyone will abandon me…  That if I’m not perfect, they’ll all leave me and…  I don’t wanna be alone anymore…  I’ve been trying so hard to be the perfect daughter so he wouldn’t leave me…  It’s exhausting…  I can’t do this anymore…  Please…  Help me…”
“You don’t have to be afraid…” she jumped to see the woman from the photo kneeling down next to her.
“Mummy…?”
She shook her head, “I’m the TARDIS interface.”
“I just want my mum!”
“He would never leave you…  None of them would…”
“I just want my mum!!!” she cried.  The hologram held her and sung like her mother did in her dreams, “Mummy…”
“Show him your true self, sweetheart.  He won’t leave you…”
“I want my mummy!”
She shushed her and sang the song again as the Time Tot cried for her mother.  After she calmed down the TARDIS interface took her by the hand and motioned for her to get up as she led her through the hallways, the girl sniffling every step of the way.  She led her to a large classic door outlined in stone; she opened it softly to reveal the Grotto, “Entering level ten, the Grotto.  New elements have joined the game.”
“Is my mum in here?” she asked hopefully.
Her mum’s hologram shook her head sadly, “I’m sorry, my love.”
“She---she’s gone isn’t she…?”
“You still have ones who will love you always.  People who are looking for you.”
“...  But I want her…”
“I am so sorry…”
“Zack’s here…  Do you think she is too?”
“You will have to find out,” she rested her hand on the girl’s cheek, “Your family and friends love you so much.  I brought all of them that I could, just for you.”
“Thank you…!” her lip trembled, “But who’s my family?  Who was I raised by…?  Born to…?”
She shook her head softly, “I’m sorry, I will help you as much as I’m able.  But you have to remember on your own.  Remember that you are loved.  Go find them,” she ushered her as she disappeared in a twinkle of lights.
She stepped forward into the magical forest of the grotto, she always thought of this place as a secret garden, where mystical magical things were just hiding waiting to be discovered.  She heard the trickle of the creek nearby and crept through the awning of branches into the thicket of blackberry and other bushes below.  Seeing the plump ripe berries made her stomach growl and she started to pick them, remembering the last time she had eaten; it had been before the game started nearly eight hours ago.  The berries were delicious, they always were in this part of the TARDIS.  She remembered when she and Donna had made a tripleberry pie out of the berries found in the grotto.  A memory that felt like she was with two parents who loved her.  She remembered how they teased each other, all of them enjoying one anothers’ company, it seemed like a lifetime ago…  She finished with the blackberries before moving onto the blueberries and ziaconida berries from Calasovor III.  She pulled out a pouch from her pocket and filled it with berries as a peace offering for the Doctor.  She hoped he wouldn’t be upset with her, she just needed some time alone…  He would understand…  Wouldn’t he…?  She shook her head breathing in deeply as she picked more of the delicious berries nearby and set off through the thicket into the dense grove of trees beyond, hoping to find someone she knew before activating the boss.
She walked along quietly, remembering the TARDIS wouldn’t let anyone or anything harm her, as she meandered through the pines and oaks.  The fresh cool smell of the trees and the silence that grew from them helped to calm her wits.  She made her way to the pond where she assumed Quina had done much of her frog hunting.  She didn’t see the Qu in sight but she sat down in the clearing beside the pond and skipped rocks in.  She knew this was the main area so she laid back in the grass to wait; looking up at the cloudy skies above.  She heard a splash and sat up to see a strange creature swim through the water in front of her, “Gomamon?” she wondered aloud.  Gomamon didn’t seem to notice her as he dove under the water, springing back out with a fish in between his teeth, grinning triumphantly.  She smiled, “I love digimon.”
“You smell like berries,” she jumped when she saw another small creature beside her sniffing her pocket; it looked like a mix between a cat and bear cub; its soft pink and white ears twitching as they listened to the noises all around.
She smiled, “I’ve got some in my pouch.  You hungry?”
“Yes, please!” it grinned, “I’m Aviamon.”
“My name’s Angie…” she pursed her lips wondering if she should have said Rita.  She shook her head and picked up the pouch pouring some of the berries into her hand as Gomamon swam over and hopped up with a fish in his mouth.
“You have berries?  Can I have some too please?”
She smiled, I guess I can make him a pie later.  “Here,” she dumped the bag in her hand and set it on the pouch for them to eat.
Gomamon offered her and Aviamon the fish which she politely declined, while Aviamon bit into it with a content grin, “Yum!  I love fish!” she murmured between bites.
“I should think so since you look kind of like a cat,” Angie smirked.
“Yep!”
“Do you know where we are Aviamon?  This doesn’t look like the digital world,” Gomamon asked.  Angie explained everything; Aviamon just shrugged it off, continuing to eat her lunch, while Gomamon stared at Angie in surprise.  “Jou won’t be too happy to hear this,” he murmured, “He gets stressed out easily,” he explained.
Angie snorted, “Sounds like me.”
Aviamon finished and purred next to her, “You remind me of my human partner, Aruko!” she curled up into her side.
“How so?”
“Your smell…  Don’t you think Gomamon?”
He smelled her, “Hmm…  A little bit…  Hey!” he bounced up, “You should meet Jou and the others!” he looked around, “They’re around here somewhere,” he murmured, “I’ll go look!” he hopped into the pond and took off to the other side before Angie had a chance to say anything.
“Everyone says I remind them of someone they’ve lost…”
“Maybe you just have that smell?”
Angie chuckled, “The saying is usually ‘maybe you just have that face’.”
“Smells are more definitive,” she rolled her back on the grass as she hummed.
Angie swallowed hard, “W--where did you learn that song?”
“Aruko’s mom sang it to us when she was littler.  Itsumo Nando Demo.”
“It sounds familiar…”  She looked up into the sky wishing her mum was there to hold her, she hugged herself before realizing it was getting darker, the sun disappearing behind a cloud of mist, “Is it just me or is it getting kind of foggy?”
“Hmm…” she rolled over and sniffed the air before bouncing up, “This isn’t a normal mist…  I don’t like it,” her nose twitched, “We should get away from the pond…”
“Why?” Angie asked getting up.
“Anything could hide in there with this fog around.”  The two backed up and went to the middle of the clearing.  “Safer here,” she said smelling about, “But the area still smells musty like something bad’s gonna happen.”
“Let’s hope not---!  Sei---Seichii!?”  He didn’t seem to see her, she stepped forward only for him to walk further into the mist.  “Seichii!!!” she ran after him.
“Angie wait!”
She kept running but he seemed to keep getting farther away until he finally stopped.  She called out his name once more and moved to grab him but fell in the mud as he disappeared, “Seichii!” she cried, “How could you just leave me!!!” she shouted into the mist.  She cried on her hands and knees as she remembered the pain of when he walked away…
She felt something on her arm and looked to see Aviamon nuzzling her.  “No one was there Angie…”  She wiped off her eyes, getting mud on her face before wiping her sleeves and hands on her jeans.
She sniffled, “He abandoned me…”
“Why would he do that…?”
“Because everyone always does…”
“I don’t think everyone would…  You have people who love you, I’m sure of it!  I know it hurts to lose someone you love, Aruko is gone…  I’d give anything to get her back...  And even though I wasn’t there I know she would never intentionally leave me…”
She sniffled, “Rani thinks he fancies me but…  He told me he didn’t like me like that and left…  He left me alone…  That’s when---that’s when…  That’s when she kidnapped me and took my heart…  He may be searching for me but…” her voice wobbled as she fell to the ground in tears once more.
“I’m so sorry…”
“If only Kevin were still alive…  I know he would never leave me…  Not intentionally…”  She sobbed, covering her mouth with a hand before she sat on her knees hugging herself.
“Hollie!?  Hollie!  Are you alright?” she looked up to see a younger girl, kneeling down next to her.  She hugged her, “Everything’s gonna be okay,” her voice wobbled and she sat up startled, “I---I’m sorry!  I thought you were my sister.”
“I’m sorry…” her hearts squeezed.
“It’s okay…”
“What happened to her?” Aviamon asked.
“...  We were separated when we were just kids…  I’ve been trying to find her again but…” she looked down as she hugged her knees, “I--I can’t…”
“Rita!  Rita!!!”  The girls’ faces shot up to see an older man run to them; his soft brown hair seemed muddy in the darkened mist as he swept her up in a hug, “Rita,” she could feel tears, slide onto her hair, “I’m so sorry, honey…!  I’m so sorry…!”
“Y--you’re my dad…?”  He withdrew from the hug; his heart breaking as he looked at her, he opened his mouth to say something when she cut him off, “Aphrodite says I’m her Rita...  That one of the Big Three kidnapped me and tried to hide me from you guys by erasing my memories and changing my appearance…  I--I remember you being there when Zeu---he tried to kill me with his Master Bolt…”
He broke down as he tucked her into his arms and held her close, “My baby girl!!!  I was so worried about you!  I was so scared I’d never see you again!!!”
“...  You’re really my dad…?” she wept into his chest, “Daddy…”
“I’m here, sweetie.  I’m here…” he tensed, “He always said he was going to take you from me!” he spat.
“The God of the dead did?” she said trying to avoid their names, lest she summon them.
“What?”
“He’s the one who did this to me.”
He caught her wrist and examined the runes on her bracelet before cursing in Ancient Greek, “He told us you weren’t in his realm, that another God must have taken you!!!” he growled, “I can’t believe I believed him!!!”  He breathed in heavily to calm down, “Why didn’t your mom dispel this magic?”
“She’s not powerful enough.”
“I see…” He gave her a light squeeze, “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you, honey.”
“It’s not your fault…”
“Annie!  Daisey!”  Cloud rushed towards the group, kneeling down in front of Angie and the other girl, “Angie?”  She nodded, her face still buried in her dad’s chest, “I---I thought you were my sister…  He turned to the to the other girl, “Daisey,” he hugged her.
She shook her head, “My name’s Deylidia.”
“But---!”
Before he could say any more another shout was heard, “Maria!!!”  Tony found the group huddled in the mud, not seeming to care that they were getting filthy.  He dropped to his knees, “Angie!  I---I thought I saw Maria…”
“I think the mist shows everyone who they want to see the most,” Aviamon concluded.
He sighed and rubbed his face, “Makes sense…” Tony said, “Are you a digimon?”  She chirped the affirmative,  “Do you know anything about this mist?”
“Loneliness and despair…” a voice quivered through the mist.
Cloud readied his blade, and Iron Man equipped his suit while Aviamon’s hackles rose.
Kris got up slowly with his daughter in his arms and reached behind him for his weapon.
Deylidia huddled close to Angie and Kris while the others flanked them.
“You think you can fight me?”  The voice sounded suave, and sickeningly charismatic, his voice shivering down their spines.  “Do you even know what you are fighting?”
Tony tried to use JARVIS to locate him but to no avail, “Are you just going to hide and taunt us like a coward?  Show yourself!”
“Such a demand!  Your mouth puts others in danger!” it hissed, “This is how you lost your dear sweet daughter isn’t it?  ‘I am Iron Man!’” it mocked, “Maybe if you had kept your secret she would still be with you?  Still be alive---?”
“Shut up!!!” he snapped.
“And Cloud; the Puppet of Jenova.  Are you even real or just a figment of Tifa’s imagination?  A product of Hojo’s experiments?  Do you really have a family?”
“I know who my family is!”
“Kris, the man who defied the Gods!  The Demigod to have children with a God.  You destroyed their lives before they even truly began; abominations!  Your own daughter being kidnapped and tortured because of you!”  He held her tighter as she trembled, the slithering noise creeping closer.  “Deylidia, the little girl looking for a home, for your big sister.  The sister who sacrificed everything to protect you, even her own innocence…” Deylidia trembled as she cowered into Angie.
“Aviamon---.”
“I have nothing to hear from the likes of you.  You may think you know us but you don’t!  You’re just using fear tactics to hurt us and I will not be a part of this!”
It laughed cruelly, “The smallest little digimon that couldn’t even protect her partner from death.”
“I denounce your lies!” she sprang into a battle position, her hackles raised.
It just chuckled and moved on to Angie, “Angie; the Doctor’s daughter, a Time Lord,” he laughed, “You never did tell him about that year you remembered.  You lied to him, to the man who took you in and adopted you.  He’d be ashamed of the things you’ve done…  Maybe he should abandon you, just like everyone else.  After all, it was your fault Kevin died isn’t it?  You should’ve been by his side to help him but you left him to die and then you go and replace him with Seichii--.”
“Shut up!!!” Cloud said, “That’s enough!  She’s right!  You don’t know any of us!”  He dug through his pockets for materia as the creature laughed, before pulling out a summon and sticking it into his blade slot.
“Do you really think your pathetic materia could do anything to me?  I’m the Myst Eater!”
“Level ten boss activated.  Name: Myst Eater.”
“I devour your dreams, hopes, despair, and loneliness, little puppet!”
A tingling feeling of cold spread around them as blue runes appeared above Cloud’s blade.  Angie watched as a crystal of ice appeared in front of him with a blonde woman inside, “Shiva!” she said awed.
As the ice shattered the woman gave her a glance with a soft comforting smile before lifting her arm; ice shards formed at her fingertips before piercing through the mist, freezing it all and shattering it in one swift motion.  A giant snake stood before them; it’s appearance like Harry Potter’s basilisk, “I am the Myst Eater!!!” it roared lunging at her.
“Shiva!!!”  Shiva stopped him with a wave of her hand, sending a wave of diamond dust to encapsulate him.  He stopped his gaping maw inches from her, his sharp fangs ceasing to drip the toxic green liquid onto his frozen form.  With a snap of her fingers the Myst Eater shattered into a wave of dust.  The ice settled and she turned and smiled at Angie.  They watched as she floated over to her and placed a hand on the girl’s head, smiling at her softly before disappearing in a cloud of shattered ice.
“Myst Eater defeated by Cloud and Shiva.  Loot Received: Opal and Angel Flute.”
A ball of light drifted towards Angie and she set out her hands, receiving the objects.  “I---I haven’t played a flute in years…”
“Angie!!” The Doctor ran towards her with Donna on his heels.  She grimaced preparing for him to scold her, “I’m sorry.  I should have told you sooner.  I’m so sorry!”
“Who are you?” Kris held her tight, protecting her from these strangers.
“He’s my dad too,” Angie told him.
“But how can we all be her dad?” Tony asked.
“What are you talking about?” he asked warily.  The Doctor tried to explain but the look on Kris’ face was one of an unbelieving overprotective father.  “Thank you for taking care of her…”  Angie explained to him what happened within the TARDIS, “How do you know for sure?”
She looked down, “I thought you would believe me.”
“It’s not that I don’t believe you, sweetheart…” he said lifting up her chin so she would look into his face.
“You think he’s lying to me…”
“I never said that.”
“You don’t have to, I can see it written on your face.”
“Rita…” Kris started.
“I trust him with my life.”
Kris gave him a look before finally nodding, “Alright.”
She gave him a slow smile before hugging him, “I love you.”
“I love you too, Rita.”
“Now that I think about it, where did Percy and the others go?”
“They took off looking for you,” Dean said.
She winced, “Sorry…  I just…  Needed time to think…”
“Well, now that you’ve got it let’s get going.  I’m hungry!  I could use a beer and a hamburger right about now,” Dean said.  “Ooh!  And maybe some pie!” he said rubbing his hands together.
The others snorted, “I thought you were done with pie?”  Tony asked.
“No, I’m done with cake!  Pie’s delicious!” he grinned as he walked towards the exit.
“Wait, what about Gomamon?” Aviamon asked.
“Did he leave the room or is he around here somewhere?” Angie asked.
“He left the room to go get the others.”
“Well, if he left we might as well go since he won’t be able to find his way back here for a while.”
“Are you sure?” she tilted her head.
“Positive, the TARDIS is like a maze right now.  Once you leave you aren’t going to find your way back for a while.”
