Concept art for my SA1 remake video! This is extremely extra, but let's have Hidden Palace visible in the distance of Red Mountain act 2! The similarities between it and Lava Reef are too strong to just be coincidence so this would be some really nice continuity! Since Hidden Palace, and the places of Angel Island in general, used to belong to the ancient Echidnas' rival civilization, I thought those Chao motifs would make sense. Had fun blending SA1's Aztec/Mayan influence with S3&K's geometric pop style! FUCK YEA WORLDBUILDING!!!!!!!!!! If we take this idea further then that means the rival civilization weren't no angels themselves... prisoner labor in a volcanic mine where they all perished and now haunt the place. #sonic #artRelated content
