!ATTENTION!
Since many of you wrote things about XX is not the stone for YY, please do know, as several fellow Deviants also have stated, that months have SEVERAL DIFFERENT BIRTHSTONES. Depending on the country and time (traditional/modern). Look it up if you must! Wikipedia is an easy way to learn about this theme!
Thank you for your attention and thank you to fellow Deviants who have been kind enough to clear many misunderstandings up.
Fashion Collection: BIRTHSTONE

isupportomnom In reply to ZIM402 [2013-03-26 08:22:20 +0000 UTC]
It actually is aquamarine AND bloodstone!
some months have 1, some have 2 and some 3!
they differ between cultures and time and stuff like that
but the main (known) one for march is Aquamarine,
but traditionally its bloodstone
[link] and go to traditional birthstones :3

Some months have two birthstones, a traditional birthstone and a modern birthstone. Sardonyx is the "traditional" birthstone for August because it dates way back when, peridot became the birthstone at a later date and is considered the "modern" birthstone for August. The modern stones are more widely known these days but some people still know of an use the traditional ones both sardonyx and peridot are recognized as birthstones for August though

RubyWing In reply to Kurai12 [2013-03-26 07:59:53 +0000 UTC]
If it's whiter, you can't really scan it now and the drawing wouldn't be so detailed and clear

Birthstones in the past were different then modern times...so for March (yay my birthday month too) it use to be Bloodstone and Jasper (15th-20thC) then it became Bloodstone and Aquamarine. It still is but now Aquamarine is more widely known, however Bloodstone is still a birthstone for March just an older one. You can also divide birthstones by your Zodiac sign...then Pisces is amethyst and Aries is Bloodstone! So in the end Bloodstone is see as the "traditional" March birthstone and Aquamarine is the "modern" birthstone. ^-^ Hope that clears up confusion
