Story:
Well, I was really into a team at my school called Mock Trial. We have a legacy program, teams that traditionally do well, and do well ethically as well. I had so much pride in the work our team had done, and how close we'd become as a team. When we found out we weren't moving on in the competition, I was crushed. I walked outside the courthouse, and saw this flag, and it just perfectly matched what I was feeling inside.
It hasn't received much acclaim here; most people who see it don't like it. But it's really emotional for me.

Overall the picture is okay, I think you found a pretty interesting subject to photograph.
Compositionally I wish we could see more to the left of the flag and also if we had more space above it. I think there is too much space and emphasis on the branches at the bottom and
space that it occupies as well as the busy nature of the branches distracts us from the flag which I feel is far more interesting.
The flag is awkwardly cropped on the left, which is why I think that panning the image to the left would help. I think we need to see part of the flag pole, even if only the slightest tip.
I wish the exposure was a little lighter. The shadows in the middle of the flag is quite dark and it would be nice to see some of the detail and folding there.

Ummm not sure what to say about this.. interesting concept but I think it would do better with a little color (like all B&W and color flag) and you maybe being able to see more of the flag
