It kind of makes me really nostalgic revisiting older pieces. Redoing the image however does not diminish the value of an older work. For me, the traditional still holds a special place in my heart, but the digital version definitely looks a lot more commercial.After a little over 11 years later, I decided to tackle this image again in digital media version. I also want to see how my artistic approach and skills have changed since then.
I am a little curious which do people prefer? Things that they like or observe in either version.

I don't know if I like the old version or the new version better, although I like the guy wearing long pants!

They’re both good, but I think I prefer the older version. Not sure why; might be that in the old one the look more (for lack of a better term) bishie in it and buffer/more rugged in the new one.
One thing I do like about the new one is that the slight change in style makes them look older than they do in the original, which is kinda neat for a ‘draw this again’ comparison; it’s as if they have aged along with you so it feels less like a ‘draw this again’ meme and more like a reunion/re-enactment photo people would do in real life.
