Description
The Neko-mata is a creature from Japanese mythos. When a cat reaches a certain age or size, it's tail is said to split into two and it becomes a Neko-Mata. It is said to be associated with mysterious fires and can manipulate the dead like puppets and other unexplainable occurances. They also dance, and can walk comfortably on their hind legs.

When a cat is a kitten, sometimes their tails are removed to prevent its bifurcation, turning a cat into a Neko-Mata. This could be where the Japanese Bob-tail breed originated from.
