Description
Suddenly...Time slowed down.
Tick.
Tock.
Of a clock.
Sounding
slowly
all around.
Trying to think
of what
to say.
Echoes of
memories
far away.
So much is happening
time changes pace.
Suddenly...
Faster!
My heart starts to race.
Emerg-
ing
from
this hole
in time.
Slow now
again.
But...
I have been,
and still,
I
go.
Onwards now.
Lord,
help me live.
I want
to
remember,
I want
to
forget.
So much
to live for.
Don't take me yet.

A very nice flow which ties in with and enhances one of the themes in the poem -- time, the perception and awareness of it passing. Even as one is reading steadily downwards, time is unfolding, from one brief line to another, ticking away almost like a clock. The narrator also seems self-conscious of moments passing while thinking about life/time alive.
Multiple strands and interpretations make this simply-worded but meaningfully structured poem interesting. Good job.

I especially like the ending "I want to remember I want to forget." It's also really interesting to read everyones comments especially daves, I needed a reminder that even if I sometimes forget about God he hasn't forgotten about me and he has something great in store for my life if I will let him.

Luke, after a day and week like I have just had, a poem like this is the perfect end to a long day. I really like seeing this side of your work. I can't wait for more. See, you have made me greedy...........

Yeah i like this poem rust, and as i read it i think about my own life and the things gone by, and i dont often do that. Thanks. Time is a funny thing....
There is a place beyond which has no time, which continues forever, but was created and therefore had a begining.
I look forward to the future and the things God has in store.
Cheers to you luke my friend.

Hey this is really good - it captures a moment really powerfully and made me stop and think about the life we've been given. I really like the subtle rhymes throughout the poem. Nice one!
