Just to prove that I AM really making Maxime into a MUGEN player.At the moment, he's not so impressive. Completely adequate as a punching bag, but with only four attacks and one parry, he's not exactly the most awesome fighter to say the least. So here are some screenshots of him getting hammered by some of the others and attempting to defend himself as best he can.
I hope to have his one-button commands finished soon, and then I'll go on to the specials and supers. When he's finished, Maxime will be ready to kick some ass.
Oh yeah, and no, that blood doesn't belong to him, that's actually part of Ella's attack. We all know that there's no gore in Fort Glen/Electrospastic. Even so...where did the blood come from anyway if my characters don't bleed??

I already Installed Mugen, the screenpack and a few charactors so yeah.... all I am waiting for now is the charactor. It looks great so far.

I tried to use him against Yoma Komitsu and he got SLAUGHTERED.
Then I tried using Ella against Yoma Komitsu and she got slaughtered too.
Now I believe that Yoma Komitsu is broken. ;_;

You need to dither more. It looks...like...not....yeah.

I don't want a dithered visual style. The characters in Electrospastic are made entirely of flat colour vectors with no outlines. I'm trying to keep that look for MUGEN as well.

Riiiight. I disagree, there is dithering. Look at Blackheart Look at the shading on him. It's dithering. And even if they other one's don't appear to have it that much, it's still there slightly. Also, I would have some outlines. Not black ones, by any means, but light gray or dark gray. It might help with some of the traces of white I'm seeing on the outlines of the picture. It needs work, but you already said that, I'm just giving some pointers.

I don't think you understand. Blackheart and the other characters come from games that already exist. Those were made using a dithered style.
Maxime, on the other hand, comes from Electrospastic, which is a Flash series, meaning that I want his pure gradient style to be part of his look in Mugen.
I don't want him to look like the other characters.
Electrospastic doesn't have any outlines either.
It's a matter of style.

I see, so it's on purpose. I suppose then my only remaining comment is that the clash of the styles is a little overwhelming and possibly a little tacky. Sort of like taking pictures of real people and then putting them in a 2d environment like 8bit Mario Brothers, making a game out of it, and expecting people not to notice. Oh well, I suppose this is an opinion of mine. I doubt many others would share it with me. Good luck with your work.

There are a few readme files that will show you how to add characters, but here's what you do:
Go to the "data" folder in your MUGEN files. Find a text document called "select" and read that. It will tell you what to do to add characters.

I'm afraid that every character will need to be coded differently dependingenuity on what you want them to do, but every character uses the same coding language.

Yep. I'm getting a lot of help from forums and stuff, but it's pretty much just a self-taught learning process.
Don't feel discouraged. I was kind of annoyed at how weird and hard MUGEN is to get working at first, but there are a few help topics out there.

Omega Tom Hanks creams EVERYONE. As do all the other goofy yet cheap characters like Killer Whale and Zeeky H Bomb. But they're cool

Maxime is actually very weak when it comes to damage output. His attacks hardly do any damage at all, but his special gauge fills really quickly. The ability to use lots of supers and hypers is a tradeoff for speed and low power.
