Mr. Piccolo is Grumpyquick silly sketch which immediately had proven to me that it needed more attention and care.
I wanted this to seem like it could be used as a logo or shirt.
The background is Piccolo's original symbol worn as "King Piccolo" in the original Dragonball anime/manga.
I also believe Gohan briefly wears this symbol while hes training in the wilderness in the Saiyan Saga fillers.
I colored him closer to the original manga colors.
Its also how he appears in Toriyama's original art and in the video game Super Dragon Ball Z (PS2)
SORRY FOR THE WHITE BORDER SIZING when I just tried to reload this into my Photoshop it took FOREVER to load and even longer to try and make a few adjustments... when i saved to .jpg for DA, and while on the phone, I realized by the time I closed the window I had forgotten to crop the image properly!
so ya... Until I defrag the computer or buy more ram... just deal with it unless your purchase a print!
This is now a print so come see me at a convention to purchase!

so apparently i have to have a pro membership to do the 'official' critique... lame.
so anyways, this piece is great, i really like the overall design of it. i feel like the font could be different, and the top line of lettering made a little smaller and the bottom 'grumpy' a bit bigger or more pronounced somehow - perhaps making the letters more 3D looking or something. perhaps hand drawing the letters would make it look less photoshop-y, know what i mean? it would indeed look awesome on a shirt - keep up the good work!

And ya, I had wanted it to look like markers or some kinda brush work so...YAY! Happy that comes across, although I was toying with the idea of just doing a cel shade or something.
