Description Here's a page from issue 28 of Invincible. I'm showing both the pencils and inks, it shows how much goodness the inker added, love them clouds!

Very nice. Though I'm kinda partial to your clouds myself.

You've probably been asked this already, but, does Cliff ink straight over your pencils or does he use an overlay or some other form of preserving your pencilled page? I ask because I overkill my stuff with the pencilling and I've had a few inkers that loved all the pencilwork and a few that have hated it. Just wanted to see how you guys work that out. That and what kind of board are you drawing on here?

Cliff likes to ink right over originals, so I let him. I don't mind. He's awesome. Also I use the boards Image sends me, they get them from Blue line. I'm not totally sure what kind they are, maybe Strathmore 3-4 ply.

Cool. I get the feeling that modern pencillers want to save their pencils so they try to get inkers to use overlays or digital inks. I'm about as old fashioned as old fashioned gets so I'm from the "ink it on the page" school of thought. Sometimes the detail and dynamics of a pencilled page get lost when inked from a copy rather than just on the originals, which is why I favor the way your working with Cliff. Less work for him as well, I'd imagine. Do you clean up your pencils before posting them up here or is what we see here what Cliff gets to work from?

Well this is what the pencils looked like, only this is the grayscaled version, there is blue lines that are turned gray when I scan it., I could post it with blue lines, I just choose to post it in greyscale. So really it's not AS messy as this pic looks, you just avoid the blue lines while inking.
