I either use SAI or photoshop. I do hair fairly well, but doing it based on the tut was a toughy. I'm pretty sure there was some masking involved for clean lines. I suck at dat clean edges thing.

I agree, the pics don't help em at all :/ I'd prefer a little text explaining the process. But I guess it's different learning styles, eh?

Β Β Β Β I would prefer the text too, but if I were the artist, I would do these tuts this way knowing it's still hard. Now you might be asking why would I do that, and the reason is simply that I think people benefit more from a study or practice when they have to figure out the aspects of it on their own. If they can connect the dots themselves, they will grow from it.

I suppose it allows you to figure out your own technique, but I personally don't even bother looking at tutorials without text cus I can't always figure out what's changed in the image, especially as more and more details are added D:
