Description
Many people ask me a lot of basic kimono questions, like which way you fold it over, and where does the sash go - that sort of stuff...So, I made up a little tutorial with the basic principles of women's kimono.
Hope it's useful

Hehe - I hope your brother wasn't aware of it, because if he was I should think you were in some danger!

where you're talking about the life and death folding of the kimono, do you mean the right as you face a person or the right of the person themselves?
This is really useful! I always make up kimonos...

Awesome tutorial. I actually bought one of those How To Draw Manga books, it was a special volume about kimono and dresses. ^^ Your tutorial is like a mini version of that, which is awesome.

umm pardon me, but furisode kimono are not ordinary kimono. furisode kimono are specificaly worn by women in their late teens or early twenties as a coming of age kimono. they are extroadinarily expensive ($10,000 us), second only to wedding kimono, and are called furisode as the sleeves are far longer than a normal kimonos, often trailing on the ground (furisode - swinging sleeves). think of them as an outfit you might wear to a formal.
