When people talk about manga and anime they usually get it a bit off.
See manga, while being the word for "comicbook" does specify "Japanese comicbook". For example American comics are nicknamed "ame-comi".
Anime, on the other hand is entiry neutral. Anime is the catch-all word for all animation.
