“My part is not a heroic one, but I shall play my part.”
― Jean Anouilh, Antigone
“I am determined that never, if I can help it, shall evil triumph over good”
― Sophocles, Antigone
When Airehtfele, the Ligerwyrm, namely the Primordial Being, seperated his soul into smaller pieces, due to his fear to travel to the outside worlds, one of these nine Arbiters was Malear, who was the closest entity to Prometheus 's soul fragment. Since the latter was the manifestation of Airehtfele's biggest part of his soul, as well as Airehtfele's most favorite Arbiter, Malear both envied and admired Prometheus, viewing him as his only brother and rival in life. While Prometheus reflected Airehtfele's innermost virtues (life, willpower, curiosity, and freedom), Malear was a manifestation of Airehtfele's darkest feelings, those that burgeoned from his harbored negativity when no one answered his painful cries and need for vengeance towards the other beings in the Universe by making everyone succumb to his God-like existence: Jealousy, thirst for justice at all costs, firmness, and anger. Impervious to the laws of the gods, humanity and of other civilizations, Malear always had his own sense and code of justice. For the sake of his own justice, he won't flinch to act twice, even if he is called "Evil". Despite having been born from Airehtfele's negative feelings, Malear's rivalry and time spent with his brother, Prometheus, made him develop a strong spirit of chivalry, with a character that honors devotion, fidelity, and courtesy. Regardless, Malear was still compelled to follow Airehtfele's orders to a degree, quickly conquering other civilizations with the lowest amount of casualties, only interested in Airehtfele's grand scheme as far as he "beat" Prometheus in the competions he created in his head and prove to the latter that he has surpassed him as the "Ultimate Arbiter", a title that he created on his own and which he yearned to be bestowed upon. Thus, Malear was never interested in being a true supporter or partisan of Airehtfele's, his father's and creator's, plan. What he did wish for intrinsically, however, was for his existence to be acknowledged as the "strongest", revelling the employment of tactics that surpassed and outsmarted his opponent. Hence, the being that stood in Malear's way towards this acknowledgment of his existence was none other than the rival he had chosen for himself: Prometheus. The more Prometheus was not interested in this fictional feud on Malear's part, the more the latter felt the need to make Prometheus acknowledge his existence. Hot-blooded and headstrong as he was, Malear only played by his own rules as a way to validate the autonomy of his existence, rather than relegate the meaning of his being to that of a mere puppet for his creator's whims.
When Prometheus rebelled against Airehtfele and sided with Ryuudust to engage the other eight Arbiters and their Progenitor in combat in the Nexus of Dimensions, Malear only sided with the other seven Arbiters, just so he could fight Prometheus head-on, in this long awaited combat that he had yearned for. However, despite Malear's warnings, the other seven Arbiters joined in the fight and overwhelmed both Prometheus and Ryuudust, winning this fight as this epic battle was lost. Infuriated that his one-on-one fight against Prometheus was spoiled, Malear started steering up trouble in other dimensions, just so he could vent his frustration for his lost attainment of his existence's apogee. Angry and intent on his will, Malear became aloof, not interested in what transpired between the other Arbiters, Airehtfele and Prometheus. No one could fill the void in his existence, at this point.
Prometheus, however, used up all of his soul to reverse the bond with his creator, so that his immeasurable and powerful soul would act as a cage that surrounded the Nexus, essentially sealing the God in his own dimension and putting him in a deep slumber in the process. The Arbiters that were outside of the Nexus fell into complete disarray, as they became unable to hear the telepathic voice of their creator. Being unable to act and decide on their own, they became nonplussed and panicked. The rebellious civilizations were able to fight back and be freed from Airehtfele's Arbiters and reign. When these events transpired, Malear was overly joyous and zealous, as the prospect that he could fight against the, now freed, Prometheus, grew dramatically. He searched and searched outside of the Nexus of Dimensions, but he could not find Prometheus anywhere. Despair overtook his heart again and he was almost on the verge of losing his conscience and flying into a blind rage, until he felt a faint connection to Prometheus from across the dimensions. Following this connection, Malear, like the other Arbiters that were not particularly loyal to Airehtfele, also, started traveling to other dimensions to search for his brother and settle the score with him, all the while fighting anyone who crossed his path and trying to validate his own existence.
While Bomber , Prometheus's reincarnation, was settled in Limbo, Malear was approached by one of the Arbiters that belonged to the Airehtfele loyalists. The latter informed Malear about them having discovered Bomber's whereabouts and their need to ally, so that Airehtfele could return. While Malear was uninterested in their cause, he clinched the deal with them, acting as their "guard dog", so that he could give Bomber enough incentive to fight him and finally overtake him. Having regained his memories as Prometheus, Bomber was immediately assaulted by an overeager Malear in Limbo, who was accompanied by another Arbiter, Kerveros. Malear quickly took the advantage, when Bomber refused to fight him as his brother and focused instead on fighting against Kerveros. Malear's fury was uncontrollable for being denied to validate his existence twice by the other Arbiters butting into his duels with Bomber and Bomber was on the verge of being killed by Kerveros. His soul, then, enamated a cord that transcended time and dimesions, one that was felt by the Ravenwoman , who arrived to his aid alongside Ryuudust. The two of them warded Kerveros off and Malear, being angry that his duel was spoiled once more, retreated as well, but not before informing Bomber that he would wait for him in the Draconids Nexus. There, they would settle their duel once and for all, lest he teams up with the other Arbiters and crushes him completely.
When Bomber fought against Malear in the Draconids Nexus, the latter was overwhelmed, but not before showing Bomber the extend of his accumulated experiences. Malear finally beat Bomber and, having proven the meaning of his existence, he joined his brother in the fight against their creator Airehtfele, with Malear being more than eager to prove to his father that he was never meant to be a puppet for his whims.
As a Minotaur Chimera Wyrm, Malear is adept at using the ice that he can generate in his body incessantly. This ice is very difficult to melt and can be done so freely with Malear's will. Malear is also capable of creating high energy shots of darkness from the palms of his hands and is unparalleled in aerial combat. Hence, Malear's elemental affinity in darkness and ice, alongside his robust physique and aerial techniques, leave his opponents with few options when they engage him in combat.
