I have seen that in many cartoons, at the time, they used to change the frames colours like that for the things to move. It happened almost alway you saw this "standing-thing" in the background and then, when there was a zoom to it because it was supposed to move, it changed shape and colour. I guess you can pass on this one 'cause it was very common for many "saturday" cartoons in the early 90 and in the 80s...though it still sucks. X<
I understand why Nintendo doesn't want other movies/cartoons of Mario...lol
