Description This is from a novel called "Superfolks" that was written by Robert Mayer in 1977.

It dealt with a Superman-type character, in his 40's, married, retired from Superheroics, and suffering from a mid-life crisis.

It went on to influence the future works of great comic book writers as Alan Moore, Kurt Busiek, and Grant Morrison.

The basic idea was that while most Superhero concepts are based on a child wishing to be an adult, or the weak wishing to be strong, this story was about a middle-aged man wishing he was young and strong again.

The hero's (whose Super name we never find out) costume is described in the book, and featured on the cover of the recent re-release.

But the image on the cover is a bit off with the description. So I did this to show what it should look like. I also based the style on All-Star Superman artist Frank Quitely.

And yes, it's supposed to look a little goofy. It's not meant to be a real hero, more of a parody of superheroes.
