In a story I am working on, mankind discovers a way to make anti-matter in industrial sizes and uses this as rocket fuel. I can't really think of anything better using current physics. But that song would most certainly be apt there.

Well personally I am focusing most of my effort on my fantasy novel right now. It is about a Wizard who returns to his native country Vinland after having spent years in Vaneheims wilderness learning from the fairies. When he comes home he discovers that things are very different. People no longer fear and hunt monsters like Trolls and Wendigoes instead they are praised and even celebrated, while it is being claimed that they are victim of "human privilege"
It is a classical adventure novel with a band of four. Beyond our sanguine protagonist, he meets his old rival, who have gone the traditional route of sorcery. He is the protege of the imperial court mage of California.
Than we have Sarah, the half-Sasquatch who is kind of big and hairy, but also quite the nerd, and of course Wendy the Wendigo, and well she is complicated. But she have a lovely smile, it is about three times bigger than her head.

well, thought I might have found one interested in listening, oh well I am still working out all the lore, until I have the lore, the plot and the characters all figured out, I can't really begin to write.
I am close, but I still haven't figured out quite how the bad guys does it

Oh I am doing that, I am inspired by the old star wars for instance, and the most classic tropes like the five man band and the four temperaments
In my four man band I combine that so that I have
1) The Hero (sanguine): the wild mage Knud (human male)
2) The Lancer (phlegmatic):the court mage SΓΈren, who is Knud's old rival (human male)
3) The Chick / Token evil teammate (choleric): Wendy (wendigo they are always female)
4) The Smart guy / the bruiser (melancholic): Sarah (infertile halfbreed of Sasquatch and human female)
Being wizards they of course also have familiers (another popular trope) Knud's is a rat, while SΓΈren have an owl. And if thou think Knud and SΓΈren sounds strange, remember these are Vinlandic names.
The thing I am missing, is how and what exactly it is the antagonist does. I have a vague idea, but it have to be concrete. There is no "empire" in this world, only a bunch of nation-states who are each in a strategic balance to each other. That is kind of the point, that the band should experience different cultures lands and customs, so it is not like star wars and the rebel alliance.
This is really the last thing I am missing before I can begin to write. I need to know the concrete way in which he does it, not just what his evil goal is.

oh I know terrible writing advice, I often see them for fun.
And as for the villain, I have planned a very personal relationship between the villain and the hero, it is Knud's baby sister, who have given in to hatred, the plan is more or less to have her redeemed. But there is also a greater scope villain, who had ultimately manipulated her.
But my problem is that I haven't figured out what exactly it is they do, and do so within rules of the hard magic system I have constructed for this setting.
Recently I saw little Witch Academia, which I really liked, and I especially love creepy cute girl charecters like Suzy (that is kind of like what I am going for with Wendy). The first season was mostly just slice-of-life, but than the villain was introduced and the plot started to move faster.
I just feel that there is that final piece missing with the plot.
I think that I maybe should just put it on the shelf for now and go back to my zombie novel instead.
That is about a band of three survivors in the zombie wasteland that comes across an actual thriving settlement called Dam City, who seems to worship a character named Grace with fanatic fewer and is on the whole very authoritarian and militaristic.
