Description
This one was kind of a surprise, but I’m really excited about it. REDLINE is a new mecha-themed collectible trading card game produced by Saving Throw Studios. I really like the concept behind the game and, especially, the world. I really like the idea of mecha settings taking place in a timeframe closer to ours, instead of centuries into the future, and REDLINE accomplishes that with a really layered and intriguing premise.
The mechs, named efreets in the setting, take inspiration from BattleTech, but manage to be their own thing, with some of the best designs I’ve ever seen outside major settings — honestly, topping many of those. I have been following the whole project for a while now, since their prior Kickstarter campaign, and I’m really in love with the whole REDLINE thing. It was inevitable that I would try my luck with one of their designs.
Decided to start with the “face” of the setting, much like the Mad Cat is the “face” of BattleTech — the Tigercat. I think it turned out quite well! As per my other builds, it takes as few rare pieces as possible, to make it affordable. Still, it is posable and I think it turned out rad, and quite able to stand up by itself. Shouldn’t have any issue in finding a place in a game of Mobile Frame if you wish to do so.
Let me know how your take on it turns out. I would love to see other Lego models based on REDLINE’s lineup. I mean, I will surely make a few more.
My absolute thanks to Cameron Dueker from Saving Throw Studios for the support in this small project and his absolute passion for his game and everything sci-fi. Hope I can show you more Lego efreets in the near future.
Oh, and keep an eye on REDLINE, as Saving Throw Studios has just unveiled the first expansion set. These are exciting times to be a mecha and TCG fan.
Let me know what you think, peeps, and wishes of excellent building, fun wargaming, and inspired writing.
