Just something to celebrate National Insect Appreciation Day, when we celebrate, appreciate and honor the very six-legged, creepy-crawly, winged invertebrates for all the contribution they make to the environment (ex. providing food for many animals, pollinating plants, ridding the land of carrion, and even producing the things important for us, like silk and honey), whether they're in the trees, in the ground, in the air, or even in the water and for being the most diverse group of animals. Sure, some maybe pests/parasites, damaging our crops, ruining our food, spreading diseases, and invading our homes (or even our bodies), but these creepy-crawlies (well, most of them) are very important to (almost) every ecosystem in our planet. So today, why not just show some appreciation and respect for them for small but important creatures they are, maybe just for once? Anyway, happy National Insect Appreciation Day to one and all (from this buggy bunch gathered there).
