Description Seen at the exhibit, T.rex, The Ultimate Predator, in the American Museum of Natural History.

Here is one of the early relatives of T-rex. What, you thought this was related to Ceratosaurus because of its name? Well, I did too, to be honest, but it turns out we were all wrong! This dino was named Proceratosaurus due to its dramatic, thin crest on its head (used for display), but it was actually one of the earlier and smaller tyrannosaurs (having had lived in the Middle Jurassic, and having its fossils discovered in the Isle of Wight, off the southern coast of England). Now that's quite a shocker (it may should have been named 'Protyrannosaurus' or something else XD)!
