The boy sat in the dark waiting for his bus. The single lamplight shone directly above his head, leaving his face in darkness that was stark against the harsh yellow light. He didn't sit here to look impressive or brooding, he was here to catch a bus. Still, he was certainly aware of it, and wouldn't have minded if a couple of girls walked past and saw his mysterious and shadowed form.
The fact was, it was fucking cold. All his extremities were cold, including his entire head, which he didn't usually think counted as a limb.
He checked his phone. It still showed the same time. 11:23. Still 8 minutes of waiting. Swearing under his breath, he re-played the moment as he walked out the door earlier that day and took the executive decision to leave the ipod. Fucking idiot. Now he was bored off his face and cold and the sodding bus wasn't coming for another… 7 and a half minutes.
