I'm really happy with how this turned out! I think he's so cute lying there with the fireflies. I actually experimented a lot with this in both photoshop and sai, and I like the results

You Follow the river upstream, the night getting darker and darker. It was dire time you look for shelter. Running out of the small amount of light left you find there is no shelter on this side of the river. You cross the river, belly deep in water. After exiting the river and shaking off you leave the area, lifting your head up you;

A] Decide to spend the night by the river bank.
B] Decide to spend the night in a nearby cave.
—> [C] Decide to spend the night among the bushes.

He was tired and wet. The stallion shook again and spent some time by the river bank, simply watching as the sky turned from shades of pink to red and then eventually a dark midnight blue as each of the stars came out. Cypress sighs, feeling his hooves and eyelids grow heavy, and he began walking slowly up onto higher ground. The night was calm and the sky was clear; above him a bright band of colors rose and illuminated the ground around his frame. The cicada’s had just began their nightly song as he found a secluded spot in the bushes. Sinking to his knees and then belly, the stallion sighed a deep sigh as little green orbs began to buzz around his head and cast little shadows on his hide. Soon he fell into a deep sleep and dreamed of his mother and father.
