Description Professor’s Log:

Professor Clayton here. I’m currently traveling to my home region of Unova. I’ve made a brief stop in Sinnoh before transferring to my next flight. And, as such, am taking some time to observe the local fauna.

Near Floaroma Town, I got to watch an intense territorial dispute between two native pokemon species, Floatzel and Bibarel.

Bibarel and its prevolution, Bidoof, are widely considered to be a pest by many. They chew through trees and stone using their incredibly strong teeth, and use them to create large dams in nearby rivers. These dams cause the rivers to spread out into large ponds that flood nearby homes and businesses. Luckily, this was a remote enough location to avoid damaging human property. Unfortunately, it seems that it has inconvenienced another species.

This species in question is a Floatzel and several young Buizel with it. These Pokémon are peerless predators in Sinnoh’s rivers and lakes. They possess flotation sacs that allow them to rest at the water’s surface, and twin tails that can spin like a corkscrew to propel them forward in water. They are typically seen ripping across the surface of bodies of water at speeds approaching 100 mph, sometimes even faster.

It appears that this dispute was triggered by this dam being built in the Floatzel’s favorite hunting area. My condolences to the Bibarel, as it has little hope of winning this fight.

My final observation is of a different sort than usual. One of the Buizel here seemed less interested in engaging in the fight, and instead took a bizarre interest in Andreas and myself. I believe I will take him with me when I leave. It has been some time since I caught a Pokémon, so I will need to restock on Poke’balls before properly taking him in.

This is professor Clayton, signing off, until next time.
