NOTE: Again, THANK YOU, SO MUCH for all the favorites and the super nice comments!! Im really glad you are all enjoying my Despicable Me pictures so far! Do expect more!!
And no the Shark isn't sparkling....I was trying to make him look wet..but failed.....
Also is it me..or does the shark kinda look like Gru? LOL its wasn't intentional XD
So yesh, Kelsey has taken a sudden shinning to Vector!! ( I kinda owe him, he got me out of yet ANOTHER art block)
Sorry its not Star Trek related, but before you ask, yes I do have a couple Perdition pictures coming up, just need to draw them out.

This picture is incredibly adorable, and yet sad at the same time.
I'm not one to judge a character solely on their premise on the big screen. I read in between the lines, and you, m'dear, have done just that. The shark may very well be his only friend.

Do you ever get the impression that Vector may not have had a mother in his life? Maybe it was babysitters, and that's why he's so fixated on impressing his father. Perhaps he always felt close to him, but as he got older, he became a mockery to his father... And it morphed into the Vector we know now. /rant

I thought that the "sparkles" were actually scales, just to let you know.

But thank you! I feel a tad bad though. At first I hated Vector and then I saw the movie a second time and got hooked and the 3rd time, I watched it souly to study Vector (that sounds so weird...).
I agree about the mother thing. I think she died when he was at a very young age and then your theory, I can totally see. I really believe that his father has a huge part and is somewhat, making Vector into the "perfect Villains son" and Vector, inside, really wants no part of it but feels I suppose, he has no choice and also for the fact he wants to be seen in his fathers eyes as something worth while.
But yesh, go ahead and stare and MAJOR LOLS with the Vector + Shark Week..I think he was watching it in the movie actually XD Well he was watching something about Great Whites!

...Gru's sorta got a makeshift family. He's got the minions and Nefario, and later, the girls. Vector's got nobody. He's got a big house and tons of money, but money can't buy friendship and love.

But yes, I agree....He did sound kinda destroyed when Gru punched his Shark. (A really hope the shark was okay after...cause I like the shark!! LOL)
This is why Im thinking about writing a fanfiction about Vector :3 Hes really just misunderstood and personally, I agree, not very happy (Despite his happy go lucky and plucky attitude)

I hope so, too. Even as a kid, Vector had a toy shark and I know he loved it very much~
If you write one, I SHALL READ IT WITH GREAT PLEASURE. I'm not even gonna touch him, I don't think I can do him justice in writing, but I sure as heck think you could.
This sounds kinda awkward, but my Mom agrees with both of us. TV Tropes (a site I go on a lot) seems to hate Vector for no reason, calling him "An unlikeable jerk" and even "Worthless" (!?) at one point on its page for Despicable Me. I didn't say anything, but I think that he's very smart and he uses his jerkishness to hide that he's lonely. He doesn't want people to know he's weak. He's also trying as hard as he can to impress his unimpressable Dad. I have a feeling he's only a supervillain cuz' Dad wants him to be one: he'd rather just stay home playing Wii and eating snacks...
...Jason Segal agrees with it, too, he said in an interview "The evil in Vector is made out of insecurity and his father's lack of appreciation for him...[his] main motivation is trying to prove to his father than he can be truly evil."

So many people hate him..and it ticks me off. I mean..when his dad yelled at him, did you not see how scared he was for a few seconds? Even when he told him to sit down, it looked like he wanted to cry (in my opinion, ive seen this movie 3 times now, the 3rd time I really focused on Vector)
And YES YES, his Dad is the reason why Vector is what he is, because he WANTS him to be that way. Im sure at one point, his dad was HORRIBLY embarrassed by his "nerd" son, and decided he was gonna fix that and ended up pushing "Victor" into something he really doesn't want to be. The only reason why Vector is good at being a villain is because hes a genius, but do I think he really likes it? No, do I think hes doing it just to impress his dad, yes. (and possibly to look "cool")
I know it looked like he wanted to hurt the kids...but if he really wanted to, he would have...I don't think he had much of an idea what he was going to do with them and when he grabbed Margo back, I think it was just because, again, to impress his dad being all like "Oh look, I can kidnap children..thats REALLY REALLY evil".
And yay for Jason Segal!!

The shark is his only best friend? I'd be his friend, if he wasn't trying to be a villain. Besides, I don't think he's really evil; just a "nerd" (I hate that word, btw) who wants to be cool.

Oh no, no I totally agree with you...Im 100% convinced Vector wants nothing to do with being a villain and is only being influenced by his father (obviously being brain washed I suppose you could put it to his max in the movie), so much so Im actually thinking about writing a fanfiction about it! I have a basic story idea thought out and even an OC to add into the mix to help Vector to be himself and not what others want him to be.
:3 But as for my statement I made, I suppose I guess I should of said "Vector feels like his only friend is his pet Shark"

Uh, no but I don't think hes that far into adult hood either....I would say hes about anywhere from 20-25 years old, possibly 19 but Im leaning more into his early 20s, but thats my personal opinion on that matter. Lets just say in this fanfiction Im gonna try to write, he's about 22 years old. (Its gonna take place 1-2 years after Gru adopts the girls for good)
Im basing this on the fact that 1) He has his own place 2) appears to have a steady amount of income (although he gets it from his Dad..this we know LOL) and 3) Seeing him beside Gru (The moon landing was in 1969, Gru looked about 7 or 8 when it happened, so Im saying Gru is roughly 50-60 years of age)...also the way he talks to him, if that makes any sense XD
