...atleast I THINK he's Russian.....I could be wrong..also, I have 0 creativity left so...the title is lame...NOTE: Its my understanding that he is actually Hungarian although there is no hint to this in the movie. The only proof I can find is that Steve Carell mentioned something about his horrible Hungarian accent for Gru (he also says that its a combination of a lot European accents). I hope they tell us his country of origin in the DVD's special features!

YOU PEOPLE ROCK MY WORLD!Well.....theres not really a set story behind this image. I simply wanted to draw Gru being a protective Father. I wanted to draw Agnes and Edith as well but didn't wanna push my luck since I thought him hugging Margo (Even though she looks so much older here and nothing like herself) was turning out well. Then the image, when I had it on Photoshop really looked boring and plain so I added Vector (and as you can tell, I kinda rushed him...also Im convinced hes a spawn of Mandark ) So...until I can pull some kinda story out from my butt...interpret this as you see fit...if you like, share what you think its going on here! (I could use some ideas lol) I know Margo is suppose to be passed/knocked out thought...I don't know why.
Anyways, I loved this movie....it was so original and epic, cute and of course a really touching Father/daughter (s) story (and those who know and watch me already know how much I love Father/Daughter relationships!)...just wish I could find the soundtrack with the scores from the film..not just the songs....(if anyone knows if there is one..let me know!)

First, I love Gru with all my heart. HEβS SO EPIC IβM GONNA DIE!
Second, I have a fanfic idea.
Margo, Edith and Agnes are up in the main area of the house playing and causing general little girl chaos, while Gru is down in the lab working on his latest villainous scheme. Vector, back from the moon and out for revenge, decides to hit Gru where it hurts and kidnap his girls. He breaks into the Gru household in a non-too-subtle way (because, lets face it, if your evil lair is in the shape of a gigantic white egg, you donβt do subtle), setting off an alarm, and goes about trying to take the girls who, being them, fight back as hard as they can. Gru hears the alarm and rushes out of the lab, one of his many rays in hand toβ¦ take care of the situation.
Back up with the girls and pajama boy, Vector has already gotten a hold of Agnes and, after acquiring plenty of new bruises, Edith. But before he can get Margo, Gru shows up. Before Gru has the time to fire his ray and figuring two girls was enough, Vector books it.
As she always considered it her job, ever since the orphanage, to protect her younger siblings, Margo feels that she has failed them. She is instantaneously distressed as Vector flies off with her sisters and a triumphant smirk on his face.
She seeks solace in her fatherβs arms as he glares up at the retreating craft with a mix of anger and worry.
βDo not worry, Keetin. We *weel* rescue yor seesters.β
There was no way he was going to allow his girls to be taken from him. Gru vows that if Vector harmed a single hair on either of his daughterβs heads, he would pray to be stranded back on the moon.

It doesn't say where Gru is from in the movie---I still say Russia. I mean, If you hear Vlad's voice in Anastasia, he talks the same way (somewhat) Gru does.
