Description
Sakura~! Wouldn't it be fun to live in a house where your backyard consists of an entire grove of blossoming cherry trees? I'd sit outside everyday with my daily cup of tea and think of new ideas to draw. Of course, I already do that, but something about the thought of falling blossoms in a warm spring breeze makes me want to do so even more. This artwork is also on my: twitter | tumblr | pixiv

~ Aww, thank you! Your lovely comments just keep making me smile! I dearly love the art of Studio Ghibli, so it makes me incredibly happy to hear such a compliment.
Ahh, don't be jealous - cheer up, you're a fantastic artist! Your art is very beautiful and has a wonderful warmth to it. I wish I could draw people as well as you do (believe it or not, I actually still have quite a lot of trouble drawing them). Maybe one day you can teach me how you draw such lovely and expressive characters.
Thank you so much for all your kind and inspiring words, shelliihe! They really mean a lot to me.

It's no problem at all, as everyone gets busy from time to time. Haha, indeed, I want to see more of my drawings too! A busy schedule is also keeping me from completing them in a timely manner, but I am continuing to work on them, slowly but surely, a little bit at a time. Hopefully I'll have some more free time to myself so I can finish my current projects and begin other new exciting art ideas.
Thank you again for your warm sincerity and bright enthusiasm, as hearing such kind and happy words inspires me to do my best and keep drawing!

This is such a gorgeous piece! I love the way you captured the lighting and the water's reflective surfaces! This would definitely be a place where I would spend all my time if I could! * A * I love the way you captured the movement of the wind! With all the beautiful petals falling and the way the fabric flutters in the wind, it looks amazing! The ambiance of this piece is so serene and peaceful! Fantastic work on this!!! Truly a breath taking scene!

May I ask: what kind of paint you you used for this?

Thank you so much! Haha, yes, this image was "painted" in Photoshop, but I'm very happy to hear that it reminds you of watercolors, as that is one of my favorite art mediums.
To achieve the digital watercolor effect, use several colors - each set at a different opacity - and let them all stack up upon each other when coloring an object. With each color, simply make one swift motion with the "brush" and then move onto the next color and repeat. You can also use dabbing and short squiggle motions as well (depending on what you're coloring). In general, I try to avoid making long, continuous back-and-forth strokes as that tend to ruin the watercolor effect. Just think overlapping layers of short, transparent brushstrokes.
Happy painting~!

I will be making tutorials in the near future, since several people have also requested them. However, tutorials do take a lot of time to make and I have many other art projects to finish as well, so please wait patiently if you can. Is there something specific you would like me to talk about in a tutorial?

Ah, nothing specific then? That's okay, if you think of anything you want me to address in the tutorials, just let me know sometime in the near future. And I thank you for your generous patience.
