...I'm not sure if you're surprised I picked the Wendigo one or not xdd (I was torn between this one and the mermaid one <3)

You've got the elusive one!
You wander the train tracks one autumn evening maybe out of boredom, maybe out of need for solitude. The mist is thick and the gravel crunches under your boots as you walk. Out in the distance you hear the faint whistle of a train and you furrow your brows in confusion. You thought this part of the tracks was abandoned after a terrible accident many years ago, but low and behold, there's that noise again. It's shrill, loud and it's definitely getting closer. The mist seems to get thicker by the minute and you decide to walk off the tracks, but you find yourself stuck in place. Your body doesn't want to move and you're left there, staring into the void, hearing the train getting closer. Soon enough, three orange lights appear out in the distance. You can feel the ground starting to rumble as it gets closer to you. You can't see anything other than your own ownstreched hand and the three lights, towering ahead. It's closer and closer and you can hear the wheels turning and the machine in front of you working, even though for a second you swear it sounds like growling instead. You stare right at it as it's about to hit you and then it all suddenly stops. The noise is gone, the lights are not there and there is nothing but mist. The entire place seems to be stuck in time and you can't even hear the birds singing anymore. You think you must have died, and take a slight step back and the noise of the stones suddenly shifting under your foot break the spell. Everything is back to normal, the mist seems to thin out and you're alone once more. You start walking back home but can't stop the goosebumps that rise up at your arms and you keep glancing over your shoulder as you go.
You never walk on the tracks again.
