Description
Greetings to all, here we bring another number of a special Chinese manga (manhwa) about the crossover CAPCOM vs SNK, which is part of a series of 5 volumes of about 100 pages each, which almost nobody knows and does not have to do with the 14-volume series or the SvC Chaos series that have been seen. Previously where Evil Ryu, Orochi Iori vs Akuma fight, now we bring one where Chun-Li faces (and defeats) Mai Shiranui and then Geese Howard. The story of this chapter goes more or less like this:
In a city spot, "Chun-Li" is seen stealing some documents, when they try to stop her, she destroys devices with fire (?), At that moment the real Chun-Li appears to stop the impostor, which is revealed as Mai Shiranui , which has to face the Chinese detective. It is seen that Mai does that, because Geese had previously defeated her and Yuri and using her as a hostage, he blackmailed Mai into stealing those papers, under blackmail of murdering them both if she did not accept, the fight ends with Chun-Li defeating Mai in a ridiculously easy way (the ninja did not touch him a hair), after retiring, he knows that he must go to Geese's tower to confront him, when he arrives, Geese has to hold Yuri and Mai as hostages tied (Mai is even Gagged), and reveals that her target was not those papers, but Chun-Li herself, whom Geese wanted to face in person and eliminate her, Chun-Li faces and defeats Geese's henchmen (including Billy) very easily , freeing
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The only valid is the official canon. Mai in DOA6 is not canon. Mai in KOF Destiny is not canon. The thing is that canonically Mai really has a terrible record, as she has lost almost all her fights and opponents even without powers like Kim or Raiden (the wrestler) who have swept the floor with her. Mai, for starters, handles a martial art style more focused on competitive activities, she does not use ninjutsus with concepts totally focused on the art of killing like Kitana (Mortal Kombat) or Taki (Soul Calibur).
According to Neo Geo Freak magazine, some of his canonical defeats were at the hands of Laurence Blood (Fatal Fury 2), Blue Mary (Fatal Fury 3 and Fatal Fury: Real Bout), Billy Kane (KOF95); in the early KOF94 and KOF95, he managed to defeat Athena Asamiya, but in later versions she would be fatally humiliated by Athena (KOF96, KOF97, KOF2000, and KOF2001) as if it were a pastime sweeping the floor against the descendant of the Shiranui clan, listing these fighters who appear on the list, are fighters of regular performance or intermediate rank, who cannot be able to win or fight against other high-level fighters in most cases (Terry, Alba, K , Iori, Kyo, Rugal, etc.).
Can be included KOFXIV without exception, as in the story of the official novel of the Female Team in that version, they hint at what Alice Bogard defeats, just being a rookie... which leaves him with points below, of the ones I already had, out of the way the argument has been advancing. Mai has a FATAL flaw as a wrestler, as she is rather haughty and overconfident, so she doesn’t take fights seriously and that makes her underestimate the opponent, canonically that has cost her defeats even with newbies as was the recent case with Alice (even if it was a practice fight).
A similar example can be found in a reference in the Maximum Impact saga, where it is also shown that Mai is not a strong character. Proof of this is that in the KOF Maximum Impact 2, Nagase (a girl younger than her in age),kicked her ass, giving her a sovereign beating, although at first glance she sees her with respect, perhaps for being ninja women, for Nagase, Mai is not a big deal, and he has the perception that he can beat you whenever he wants... The problem with Mai is that she tends to be too superficial, and therefore underestimates her opponents too much-much of this, she blames it for having ended badly in most of her confrontations
For skeptical people who are still not convinced of the above quotes, whether they have the game or consult the dialogue between Andy and Mai from KOFXIV on YouTube channels, you can confirm this detail that marks a very marked error on the part of Shiranui, Aside from her overconfidence and being haughty, it turns out that she does not focus on the fights as they should, but on more trivial things, in her fight, Andy claims to Mai the tremendous mistake in the middle of the fight of not concentrating on the battle, but on making a phone call. This error with more use of reason highlights the above points - 3.bp.blogspot.com/-GQSbeQyI9vk…
In King Of Fighters Maximum Impact, Mai is defeated by the assassin Lien Neville, at the end of the tournament, when Alba Meira defeats Duke, Mai returns to Japan with Andy. In King Of Fighters Maximum Impact 2, Mai arrives in Sotuh Town and participates again, here, a ninja called Nagase (Member of the Kusiel / Addes mafia) appears who challenges Mai, who comments on the stupidity of belittling her for her appearance (Mai says that Nagase is "just a girl"), in the middle of a fight, Mai realizes that the girl uses movements of the Iga ninja clan, which are far superior to hers. Mai is defeated and beaten by Nagase (who mocks her, saying that "she was defeated by a girl"). In Fatal Fury 2, Mai is defeated by Lawrence Blood, who kidnaps her on the orders of Wolfgang Krauser, in order to distract Andy from taking part in Krauser and Terry's combat -
www.youtube.com/watch?v=St8t0y… - Andy manages to rescue Mai by defeating Lawrence, Since then, Mai has not let go of Andy, and she will live obsessed to a rather exaggerated (and even ridiculous) degree with the idea of marrying him.
In combat, Mai unfortunately lacks seriousness, since she sees things very lightly (almost like a game), which makes many not take her as a serious fighter, which angers her a lot, in addition to always being confident in an exaggerated way and usually tends to belittle her rivals, which is why they have already defeated her many times. This may be due in part to the fact that Mai is not a serious character, nor a protagonist, but the visual appeal and used as a comic filler almost always (similar to Dan in SF), both in Fatal Fury and in KOF.
Mai's abilities are at the level of a normal (or average) human with training, although her physical strength does not excel, if she does so with her pyrokinetic power and speed, although in reality her level is below that of Blue Mary. and Kim KaphWan, which is not exactly to be praised, her resistance is lower for the opponents who touch her in KOF, however, it is enough to be able to fight normal level fighters, which means that she is above fighters like Choi Bounge, Duck King, Cheng Zin San, or the USA Sports Team; But in front of fighters like Kyo, Terry, Ryo, Athena, Chizuru, Leona, Iori, or even Billy Kane, her level is very, very low.
Mai is similar in many ways to Dan from SF, in personality they are similar, and also both have a low level of chi or KI, although Dan can at least create fire or energy projectile attacks but at close range, Mai is unable to create fire or energy projectile attacks not even at close range, Mai can charge her attacks with fire (similar to Fei-Long from SF), she can cover her own body with her flames, although her level is lower compared for example with Kyo, K'Dash, or even Billy. In addition to her fighting style, Mai uses fans made of paper and wood as a weapon, usually made to hit or knock out the opponent, not to kill, the famous KACHOSEN or butterfly fan.
As already mentioned, if she likes to teach the body a lot (although she says that her education says otherwise), this is done so that the rival (if she is weak-minded) loses concentration in combat due to nerves and thus achieve her take psychological and physical advantage in it (similar to Ranfan from Dragon Ball) even, he lets himself fondle his breasts and buttocks on purpose to achieve that detail. You have to see that she sometimes enjoys seeing how the rival loses concentration.
