Description According to Norse mythology, Surtr is the god/demon who kills Freyr at Ragnarok and proceeds to cover the Earth in flames with his sword of fire. In coming up with this I was trying to think about how religion tied into early cultures and how those peoples may have believed the landscape around them to have been formed by their gods much in the same way that cosmos and natural phenomenon might have been explained.

lol, I think me trying to do anything with deer horns would end with myself on the ground, most likely impaled.

Haha, epic! I love the way the mountains shatter on impact. You make this impossible monstrosity look terrifyingly believable!

I'd have to double-check the Ragnarok legend, but pretty much EVERYONE is dead at this point (even Thor (probably)). :/

Oh dear haha yeah I'm not sure either I was just thinking of a page from a Thor comic
Buht dayum Dwarves groaning by their stone doors ,
"Surtr advances from the south, his sword brighter than the sun. Rocky cliffs open..."
Look at those horns good grief

thanks

This is some wicked artwork! There are a number of reasons that I am drawn to this piece. The first (and foremost) is the talent you displayed in making it. It is not easy to put a sentient being into massive landscape like this, and make the sizes and proportionality work well. But you did it. Surtr looks great as he is ravaging the landscape!

The second reason that I am drawn to this is because of my Norse heritage. I am a little more critical of artwork that portrays this kind of genre, but you did my viking blood proud! Great work!!!!!!
