The temple, built in 1656, is built of red sandstone, and therefore, popularly called the Lal Mandir. Members of the Jain business community of the time were invited by the presiding Mughal king to settle in the area and also built a temple. The Jain temple was built with the installation of three marble idols, including one of Tirthankara Parshva.
