Description
Second in command of the nest inside the God-tree. Whilst one of the least populous breeds, the Taskmaster controls vast amounts of the lesser castes through many of it’s biological functions. It’s specialized ears allow it to converse on a frequency only the Monarch and other fellow Taskmasters can hear. With it’s increased intellect, this allows the Taskmaster to directly discuss matters of colony survival with the other higher castes without fear of eavesdropping from those it might need to send on a mortal journey for the betterment of the colony. It's specialized vocal chords are also used exceptionally well; not only for communicating on the special pitch required to communicate with the other Taskmasters and the Monarch, but as a form of punishment. Their shrill shrieks can cause internal bleeding should a nest member disobey an order. The result does not only affect the disobedient member but those nearby too. Many would rather kill the non-functioning member than suffer such torment, and so many are kept in line with fear alone of being torn asunder by their kin.
