It sure has been a while since I attempted digital painting! I've had the urge to draw SOMETHING for the last few months, but my dissatisfaction with the way I've done digital art for the last decade has had me feeling... Stagnant, I guess? I've just been unhappy with my art as of late, no matter what I draw.

I feel like I've hardly improved in years. Part of that was a 3-4 year period after college where I just didn't draw at all. Another part is that I've just been drawing from my brain ever since I started getting back into art, and haven't been using references to try and improve my technique.

After watching some speed paints and painting tutorials, I decided to give digital painting another try. It's been a few years since I attempted this technique. Used a photo reference as well, and truthfully I can't remember the last time I created a piece of art using a photo reference (other than oc references for commissions but I don't think that counts lol.)

I probably could have continued with this and made it more detailed, but I'm just not the kind of person that can spend hours upon hours working on one piece Maybe that makes me a fake artist idk lol, but I just can't stand working on a single piece for more than 2-3 hours, max. I have so much admiration for those people that spend 100+ hours on one image, but I just do NOT enjoy working that way. I gotta get my piece done quick so I can move onto the next thing

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy something a bit different! Gonna keep attempting this technique until I feel more confident with it, and probably try a more complex subject/scene next time.
