Once in D&D when our party had killed a dragon, our necromancer promptly reanimated it as a mount and he and the swordmage (we called them Skeletor and Sephiroth) used it to terrify nearby villages. Good times.

I had a wizard in dnd that specialized in necromancy, i did almost exactly this, but with a dragon, it was long long dead ancient dragon, built a small cottage in it

its a prodigal child elf mage (about 14 in human years, so roughly 150) ive been taking all the benefits i can for necromancy, increasing my effective level when casting necro spells so i can raise more things and higher level things at once, and i have create soul gem as a spell, i trapped the dragons soul and have it watch what i do with its body, so far, not happy
