same for me. I would come up with the concept, doodle for five minutes and then give up because I know I am nowhere near that good at drawing

That's why you gotta keep trying, get critique and feedback, work a little more, and use awesome works like this to work toward a style you really like. The more you draw, the more work you put into it, the better the results will be.
