My mom went back to visit China a while ago & brought home photos of a really nice forest, so I decided to draw one. I still don't like doing backgrounds, but I need the practice.Related content

This is the kind of thing that catches eyes, even from a distance- just take a look at what you did with the color.
The purple gives it a very dusky, ethereal quality, sort of like slipping into another world one twilight. The contrasting colors of the yellow and orange light are a brilliant foil, and the two emphasize one another very well.
There's stories that could come pouring out of an artistic work like this one. Any piece of art that makes you want to tell a story has merit; at least, that's the way that I see it.
I know this is one of your older works, but I also have a bone to pick with you. It's the balance of the color- which is to say that the purple is murky and even overwhelming at some points, and would have looked better with more warmer tones to offset it in the upper half.
It's still something I admire and honor. Well done, and all of that jazz. Over and out.
