Description
Series: Model Graphix Gundam WARS III: Gundam SentinelThis is the Zeta Plus, which appears in the above titled book. It's basically a stripped down, easier and cheaper to manufacture version of the Zeta Gundam. The version depicted here is the A1 (A series), which is an atmospheric flight machine. This is opposite the C1 (C series) which tend to operate in space. The differences between the two types are somewhat basic. The C1 looks very similar to the A1 except in the pelvic armor, shield -which also has a smart beam gun attached, and fuel tanks on the wings... all of which are absent on the A1.
The combat versions of these machines are a midrange gray color. The ones here are in Demonstration colors. The center in orange (actually should be a deeper red but I'm fine with it as-is) is said to have been test flown by Amuro Ray for Anaheim Electronics, the validity of which is questionable and is instead possibly a marketing strategy by Anaheim to court buyers for the machine. It's known for sure that Amuro was piloting the White Zeta Unit 3, however that unit is of minimal relation to these.
Several units are built for the Federation forces.
Software: Lightwave 3d (Modelling,Rendering,UV's), Photoshop (UV texturing, Post process)
The design of the demonstration colors and the fact that I had been sick for a week threw my timetable off by a few days so this is a late entry (as far as I'm concerned). Gotta pump it up!
Gundam is (c) Bandai/Sunrise/Sotsu Agency

Very fine work with capturing the design and appearance of the unit. It was always a favorite of my siblings.

Holycrap. The texturing on this is sweet. Awesome job on compiling the finished image, too. The background just makes it.

The sentinel versions are my faves. I'm surprised you haven't heard of them as Sentinel as a series is one of the most popular side-stories.

Wow, thats some wonderful modeling and texturing work! I'm using Lightwave in my 3-D Animation course in college, hope I can be skilled enough to produce wonderful work like this in time ^^

You should have lots of fun in class with Lightwave. I have to say that it doesn't take that much skill to pull this sort of thing off. Probably just a bit of patience. You'll probably figure it out quickly enough especially if you have an end of term animation project or the likes.

I have always thought of tackling modeling a Gundam and mecha in general, i've gotten alot of confidence using the bevel tool, that tool is love!
We do have an end animation for one class, though that's human characters i'm using for that. I really do love lightwave it's a great modeler. We're moving onto using Maya next, though thankfully we can model in lightwave and export the models to maya, the lecturer says maya is a pretty bad modeler.

I prefer lightwave more and Modo on top of that as far as modeling goes. But as far as comparing, it's difficult for me as Maya was what I used second and I found it difficult to migrate to another app once I learned the first. If you can find it in your plugins somewhere, Multibevel in Lightwave enhances the bevel tool considerably. It's one of the tools I use the most and is a god-send.

Aye, it's getting use to maya that will have me confused at first, but seeing as our lecturer is going to have us transfering between the two we should get quite use to using both of them. Multibevel, i'll certainly check that out thanks! I'll look into Modo to.

Sweetness, your stuff makes Gundam the new old-school hotness my friend, keep up the good work.
Although the models in the machines in the back seem a tid bit sketchy, but that might be the way I see things. Doesn't really take away from the picture actually, but instead, it makes it more unique.

Thanks . The original image was enormous (as usual) in area. Before submitting I usually shrink them substantially. Unfortunately that shrinkage coupled with the rather not-so-super-hi jpg quality makes for some interesting degradation artifacts, especially in this case as you pointed out.

In reality, many moons ago I started this project with another person, but they backed out and since then I have been a one fool team. I seriously appreciate the interest, but after working so long on this on my own it feels like reaching the finish the same way would mean all the more to me. Thanks too for the kind words, but I think things like "genious" should be left to the creators of the series and not the fools like me who only half-arse build what they think of.

the only thing that makes you a fool, is not realizing the talents you have, and how great they really are.
I understand about the project dealie, I'd act the same way.
Good luck with everything ...and maybe one day we can collab something...
