Description
Series: Model Graphix Gundam WARS III: Gundam Sentinel MSVThis is the Zeta Plus C1 [BST]: "Hummingbird" in demonstration colors. Basically it is the Zeta Plus A1, but with both C1 (space use) upgrades and BST (booster) future grades. The C1 parts consist of fuel tanks on the wings and a smart beam gun directly attached to the shield.
The Hummingbird parts consist of high speed use upgrades. Boosters on the Arms and in place of the Lower Legs are very similar to those of the S-Gundam Bst or Ex-S (or Deep Striker) with a crucial difference. The boosters on the Hummingbird are modified to transform with the machine. For this, fuel tanks that are usually IN the booster housing are combined and instead placed under the torso, the pelvic area of which is also reinforced with a different armor plate. In their place are mechanical components allowing the boosters to rotate and leave space for transformation. The arm boosters are each equipped with a pair of cannons. The C1 shield -already equipped with the Smart Beam Gun- also has the S-Gundam smart beam gun attached as well (the black weapon). Though the machine can also equip the beam rifle that the A1 normally uses, I'm not actually sure that the dual smart beam guns can be fired accurately with one arm. I'm fairly certain it requires both arms to keep them steady.
Basically the point of this unit is to exercise hit and run tactics similarly employed by the Hazel-Rah though the firepower is substantial. However, this is a Mobile Suit Variation and it's never able to see combat in the story. If it had, the machine would be a mid-gray color like the C1.
A larger/wider/cleaner version of this image is supposed to be the index page in the ol art book. I cut it off a bit just to be a hassle
Software: Lightwave3D(modelling/rendering), Photoshop(good old post work)
Gundam is (c) Bandai/Sunrise/Sotsu Agency

millions of peoples lives hinge on weather the pilot sneezes or not. That would so suck to be one of those guys.

= = GET ON THE FRONT PAGE OF DA ALREADY! XD
It's where you belong!
I'd ask how you make such effective texture maps, but since you use a totally different program than I, it'd be futile. XD; But as usual, this is an awesome piece of work. ^^
Quite an interesting mobile suit to boot! ^^

Sentinel's the novel, right? How is that? I'd like to read it provided it's possible.

Very nicely done. I really liked the Hummingbird design, and you've done a great job with this rendering of them. I find it interesting how all of the parts for the hummingbird that resemble Ex-S components are all scaled down to better suit the regular gundam size. otherwise the Ex-S beam smart gun would be just as long as the one attached to the shield and the boosters would be quite unsuitably larger and rather cumbersome. Again, a great job as always

Haha, damn just looking at it the name Humming Bird fits nicely. Bet keeping it steady for a shot would be a bitch.

Probably right too. I wonder if that's the "reason" it wasn't fielded.

Those Gundam will mess you up! With that many weapons they look like they can take down the Big Zam with no problem.

hmmm the fuel tanks are on the wings...is that like a weak spot for it then

sandrum In reply to shinoahdeath [2007-04-09 07:58:08 +0000 UTC]
The stories (ZZ Gundam in particular) tend to outline the intrinsic weaknesses of a transforming machine as well as mobile suit's susceptibility to beam weaponry. As far as these machines go, you could shoot them anywhere and produced critical damage so really any spot could be considered "weak". But, I have to assume as you do that hitting the fuel tanks will probably yield a more explosive amount of damage.

these babies just get better and better. i am totally impressed with this, especially the booster effect, and the way the light plays off the MS. im pretty sure if the Hummingbird had ever been fielded, it would be one of the fastest MS ever.
i want to get the FIX figuration kit now. >.<

That's a beast of a mech, although I imagine using it in robot mode would be kind of a hassle, due to all these huge bits poking out making you a bigger target. Does having huge engines all over the shop make you cumbersome in space?

sandrum In reply to Megajon [2007-04-09 07:51:31 +0000 UTC]
That's a good question, but to tell you the truth, I'm not very sure about maneuverability of this machine and so I can't give you a credible answer (at least, not credible beyond a good guess)
But I have to at least assume that the machine generally doesn't stop moving to fire any of its weapons considering (as you pointed out) it's increased mass would present a targeting problem.

Oh! I'm just popping by to say that I appreciate your work on a whole new level! I got a trial for some 3D rendering software and after various sessions of trying to figure out what this button is actually doing I came away feeling very pleased that I'd managed to make a cuboid.
