Description
Haunting me since I received a year ago certain remix fromDecided to hunt it down
I didnΒ΄t do this as fanart to the movie(!), especially not to the one from year 2004!
I read every available book about Phantom in my 19 years and was a pure fangirl. I was always fan of Sarah Brightman/Steve Harley version~
So here is my version of Phantom and Christine.
For interested ones:
Here is link to the remix - [link]
And here link to the old video/version

Beautifully done! Although, Erik looks like he's been surviving on a bit more than just music. A couple of protein shakes, perhaps? Not to put down the pic or anything, of course. After all, he doesn't have the half mask or anything... I guess what I'm trying to say is that the viewer should be focusing on the outstanding work of this and not so much the "Hotness" of the phantom. I'm just a tad irked by people who only like the movie, which did no justice to the musical, and don't bother to read the novel. Not trying to get any fan girls pissed off or anything. I guess being a long-time fan made me a lerox-purist... Sorry for the ridiculous rant. Carry on!

I agree, I'm always more than a little angry that somehow the 2004 movie version has become canon. I'm a big fan of the original novel and the original stage production from 1986. So much was lost when they adapted it to film.
I did watch the Steve Harley/Sarah Brightman video. I loved it, so 80s technisynthesized! And the shadow of him sawing the chandelier!

Most people laugh it out, but hey...its was in the past and I bet kids in the future will laugh at us too.

Perhaps. The people who'd laugh at it though would be the same people who'd laugh at the Labyrinth for it over-the-top 80s-tastic goodness.
And frankly my dear, I don't give a damn about those people

wow this is touching. i like the way you expressed Christine. She's more alike the shy and blondy lady depicted in the original novel.

This drawing is really rather definitive to Erik and Christine's relationship. Great work!! Also, the fabric on Christine's dress is faaaabulous!

this is amazing...the concept of him as a phantom is really evident in this, which you don't see very often. in other works you see him as a man; in this you see him as the Opera Ghost. stunning work

This is really beautiful! I'm reading the book now, but I haven't seen any film, so this is exatly the way I imagine Christine and Erik! (even if in the description he is made like a monster, I prefer to imagine him in this way...)
