Time for a story that I just imagined without even starting one:

'... On the brink of defeat by the dark force of Dragula, Phyrox kneeled in pain; his body ached, his head felt dizzy, and blood dribbled from the corner of his mouth. Beyond his grasp lay Aiyanna & Ryona, scared & injured, tears flowing slowly from their eyes as they await what seemed like certain doom. Was this really the end for them, and soon for all the citizens of the planet? And what of his friends in the other sector, fighting for their lives?

Phyrox coughed, spraying blood onto the floor, and Dragula just savored the moment as he raised his claws at the fallen hero, who flinched & shut his eyes before the final blow...

"Aiyanna... Ryona... No... NO! I will not give up! GIVE ME THE STRENGTH!!..."

Before they could touch his quills, the claws of the villain struck a shield-like sphere that suddenly formed around the hedgehog, saving him from further harm. Dragula backed up in surprise, his orange demonic eyes now wide with confusion.

"What-- what is this?!"

Phyrox opened his eyes once more to find the Star Sapphire reappear in midair, its power thought to have disappeared, and it started sparkling brilliantly as it hovered before him...

"NO!!" Dragula reached out for the sacred jewel, but this time it rejected his attempts by slamming the dragonoid into a nearby pillar with an invisible force, temporarily dazing him. The jewel then levitated Phyrox off the ground, shrouding him with white lightning & bright dazzling stars; he felt a warm sensation flow throughout his entire body, numbing his pain entirely & giving him much-needed energy... oh, so much energy...

"I... I understand now..." he whispered, smiling for the first time in moments. "I know now what my destiny is..."

He closed his eyes once more, then flexed his muscles furtively. With a surging mix of hope & determination in his heart, he yelled out loud as the white lightning intensified & the stars circled around him faster & faster. As his sister & his girlfriend now watch from their spot in enlightened awe & Dragula stirred, gritting his teeth angrily, Phyrox's fur slowly flashed cyan & white a few times, growing just slightly in length. In a short flash of light, he finalized as a white hedgehog with navy & blue tips; his quills were larger & pointing more upwards than before, all his injuries were completely healed, and his eyes now a lime-green color and full of fire.

The bright light from the Star Sapphire subsided, but Phyrox still sparkled like a beacon of hope in the night air, floating a few feet off the ground. Aiyanna & Ryona let out an utter of glee & inspiration, and Dragula now cringed with sudden fear as he took in what he had just witnessed.

"NO! IT CAN'T BE! The legend is true??!"

Phyrox grinned with great confidence, chuckling a little. He clenched his fists & a blue fire ignited them both, now brighter than ever. A strange, gentle female voice called out from the Star Sapphire as it hovered once more before his face, before vanishing & merging with his spirit.

"Oh gifted pyrowarrior. Now you must vanquish this evil force once & for all. You can... because you have the heart of a hero... the love & support of your friends. You have... the power..."

"Yes..." he responded, checking out his new self. "I have the power. I think I shall call myself Hyper_Flame now..." He then turned his glare towards his archenemy with sheer grit.

"DRAGULA! You have hurt the ones I love long enough! This ends TONIGHT! Feel the true might of my Super_Firepower!!" ... '
