The Abyss Selkies and Abyss Kittiwakes are legendary subspecies, often spoken about. They've be seen by very few, and are noted to replicate land alicorns.

It is impossible for an abyss pony to have a horn or wings.

They are aquatic, living underwater and spending time on beaches, bays and small islands. They can breathe underwater on on land, but their health suffers if they spend more than a day out of water.

Abyss ponies are saltwater creatures, but some have adapted to freshwater. Their diet consists mainly of seaweeds and the occasional lost fish- but some have noted that in desperate situations they'll chew on decaying bones, carcasses, shells and coral. Abyss ponies are notorious for shredding reefs.

It's an ancient myth that they feed off hatred and disharmony. This may stem off the sirens, who did just that, and loosely resemble the species. Shivers of abyss ponies are known to be disruptively angry, often attacking each other and anything that interrupts the group. They're very hostile to normal ponies and tend to spend their time on land hunting for fun.

Abyss ponies are a lot more animalistic than normal ponies, never intergrating into society because they're just not safe enough. They have a very basic understanding of themselves and what they stand for, but can communicate to a certain level. Another main reason is their omnivore and violent lifestyle.

Their spots glow in the dark, acting as a lure.

There's a pretty good balance between males and females, but all foals start out as hemaphrodites. As they slip into the abyss equivalent of puberty, the body will change to become either male or female, and the pony will usually stick with that identity for the rest of their lives. Because of this, foals are pretty much agender, sometimes carrying feminine or masculine traits.

Abyss ponies can breed with most other species, as long as it's a kind of pony. However, relationships are impossible. They just can't understand love (but know to protect and assist mates).

Regarding breeding, please notify me if you want to breed our species! I'll read over yours and decide if they'd be compatible, profits from the resulting sheet will be split between us. I may decline or postpone your request if I'm busy ;-;

You are not allowed to make your own, but MYO slots will occasionally open.
