One of those moments that always makes me giggle.... and then again in TTT extended edition where he picks up an apple and looks up at the sky in confusion, like wondering if Aragorn is anywhere around throwing them

i don't actually remember him being hit in the head in the movie.
however i was role playing with a friend lotr. he made up a character to go along with Frodo from bree and it basically went like this:
Hercer shook his head and grabbed an apple. he tossed it and the apple hit Pippin.
"aha! breakfast!" said merry "looks like you got your wish!"
"its not funny!" complained Pippin picking up the apple. Frodo was laughing.
