Description
Just outside of town, there used to be a huge factory that ran almost all the time. After it shut down, it became a popular party spot for kids and junkies. That was before my time. Now, it just sits there with its tall smoke stacks protruding above the trees. Which is why I’m here. Something about abandoned places excite me, so when I discovered the doors were locked my heart sank. I took a moment to scan the building for any other entrances, seeing signs that are barely legible from age. A side door propped open slightly catches my eye, the sign posted on it was the easiest to read:
“DANGER! ENTER AT OWN RISK!”
I should have listened…
My exploration lasted all but 10 minutes. The other 10 was spent hiding from two angry squatters that were not thrilled to see a random girl wandering around. I made the stupid mistake of trying to run in the dark, and managed to trip and fall right into one of the men. What followed was an onslaught of thin ropes around my wrists and waist, while the other kept my legs under control with the same nasty rope. “What are you doing sneaking around? Come to take us to jail I bet,” growled one of the squatters who just knotted off the coils wrapped around my thighs. “That didn’t work too well for you now did it missy? We’ll teach you a lesson or two,” said the other, finishing the knots on my waist. “Let me go I didn’t even know you were here!” I pleaded, the ropes began to dig into my skin, “Just untie me and I’ll lea-uuummf!” I guess I talk too much for the squatters, as a thick, knotted rag was jammed in my mouth and tied under my hair. “Shut your mouth, sit in this room for a bit and think,” said the squatter who gagged me, “We’ll be back to check those knots and they better not be loose.”
I’m in deep. I should have read the signs.
