"Still want to say today's going to be quiet?""Eh..." Zack grimaced, narrowing his eyes at the Scourge-ridden thing hobbling down the street. Where there was one, there were a dozen more hiding in the shadows, and oh, there were a lot of shadows this late in the evening. He was going to be late for dinner, and Aer was going to worry, and that'd teach him to open his mouth before his second cup of coffee. Lightning's lips twitched in a half-hidden smirk as he said, "Nah, but this won't take long."
A tremendous clatter from the next road over had him cursing his luck. The Six just loved to toy with him, didn't they. Lightning huffed, amused.
"Fair?"
"Yeah?"
"Shut up before we're here all night."
*The newest concept rattling about my brain: a mashup of all mainline FF games where Lightning and Zack get to be buddy cops protecting the world from evil and I need to sit on this one for a while. Oh, why do we torture ourselves so~
