.I love the way some things corrode, rot and decompose. The texture of the flaking paint revealing previous colours of the clock's frame over it's long and useful life. The rust breaking through what's left of the original white enamel and the oxidised orange and brown of the rust itself.
This clock is on the exterior wall of the harbourmaster's office in Irvine. The building is no longer in use, but has a plaque below the clock celebrating the life of Capt. Robert Wylie who was the harbourmaster until his death in 1843
