whee. this picture has been partially done for.. weeks. i wanted to do a picture focusing more on the whole cyborg thing with kei. ideally i really want to do a picture of her where you see all the strands of hair and it's all detailed and amazing. i however know that (especially working with a mouse) i'd become sick of it after doing like. 1/3rd of her bangs and stop and never finish it. so i decided to go the free-form pen route in photoshop so i could at least make it line-less. but doing that much by mouse, even w/ the freeform pen takes a while and after getting all of the flats down and like, one set of shadows i stopped working on it and completely forgot it existed until tonight and decided to finish it. whee. i'm reasonably pleased!ru insisted her side glowies show through the shirt and i think she is better off for it, so a round of applause for ru.
Notes so people don't ask me a bunch of the same question: done off a base pen sketch, everything there was done in photoshop CS w/ a mouse. She's a cyborg, she's mine. the glowing bits are not tattoos, they're where the electricity in her shows through her skin. the 'texture' in the b/g is a stock of circuits. uhh, the usual faving w/o commenting is boo.
there's too much to randomly say on here so if anyone has any questions that weren't just answered there feel free to ask. whee i'm done with this, hahahahaha.

you should be pleased because it's really beautiful, the plugs and the hair and your marvelous shading. i really like the faint outline of her eye and her lips, you draw really nice lips

I really do enjoy this character. I've never been fond of cyborgs exactly, but this girl has personality, flair, a unique design and is quite lovely. The glowing parts here are really nice, showing through the shirt and not drawing too much attention away from the other aspects of the image. I, for one, really like her straight-down hair in front of her as she just looks at the ground. Very nice work.

Very nice job, I like how the b/g texture shows through the recharge tubes it adds a littel bit of texture to them. I love how her hair is sort of a liquidy see through color, i imagine that doing it all in the free form pen is a hastle. I agree with ru that the markings would show through her shirt, it shows that the shirt is there and the material can show off some of the glow effect.

Very amazing, like always. But this stands out from a lot of crap put on dA (well, a lot of popular crap. Since ya' know, people sure love crap.) It seems like you spent a lot more time on it as you said- which ended with a lovely result. I love android like characters and Kei is pretty amazing. Keep up the awesomeness~!

yush, she's recharging. she was born, then had her brain put in a baby robot to keep her alive. so. i guess this version of her was mostly built.

You really make gravity work for you, babe. I love how you can see her face through her hair. Her lips and eye are especially attractive to me, as well as (for some reason O_o) her collarbone. Fab, darlin'.

I like your attention to detail in this piece. I like how the hair is just semi-transparent, and how you can see the light shining through her shirt. Also, since you did it all with the pen tool, it's nice and different from your usual deviations.

There are so many details about this one that I really really like, like the various thicknesses in the lines on her robotic arm, the little details inside the tubes, and yes, the glowing line through her shirt is a great touch!

Very clean. For some reason, I like how the line down the side over neck and arm interacts with the strap of her top. With the transparencies of the hair and the textures, it seems like I keep noticing more detail the longer I look at it. Good job!
(I know you don't want critiques, but I was momentarily confused by her mouth overlapping her hair. I figured it out eventually, though.)

This is stunning. Your work is always nice, but this is just fantastic. I think my very favorite things about this are the fact that her eye shows under her hair and how her lips are shaded. Although, that is not to say that the shading overall and the design aren't gorgeous, because the attention the detail in this is breath taking. +fav

i can't do it in b/w there are no lines .-.; and there's not enough variation in color for it to look like anything. i think i'll just leave it as is.
